I'm guessing that is the reason for it when I bought the car back in March of this year, the inspection I got for it had both the pads and rotors in good shape.

So now the question is, do I need to the brake pads replacesd, rotors resurfaced, or both? And would it need to be all of them, or just the front or back?

Where's the vibration most prominent? In your seat or the steering wheel?
Past that I'd pull the wheels and measure pad thickness. It's not easy anymore to find someone willing to turn rotors or drums. That and the cost difference between turning and new isn't that big and you get full thickness rotors with new.

I can feel it a little in the seat, but more in the wheel. I'm guessing both the front and rears at least need pads swapped then?

A pad swap wont fix a vibration. A warped rotor will. If your pads are new you could replace the rotors but if your pads are worn a bit I'd replace pads and rotors. I'd start with only the front and then do the rears if needed.

Okay I will go ahead and get both replaced then.

I've seen zero instances of a "warped rotor" in my life. It's always a caliper or piston that sticking that's not clamping evenly...

I'm jealous because I took my car in and they said one of the rotors was indeed warped. Thankfully I will be brining in my own parts to get it replaced and save some money in the process.

pads and rotors and be done with it. Pretty simple for any shade tree mechanic (DIYer).

I think they say "warped" a lot to describe a wobble under braking, but the rotor is probably worn more on one side than the other, so it heats up at different rates and causes a wobble. Potato/potato I guess...Get them brakes!

Hello; I have done many brake jobs but not yet on a 2020 Mustang. While it is true a rotor replacement ought to be simple for a home shade tree, it needs to be done with care. I recently helped replace rotors on my brothers F-150. being an F-150 the problems may not apply.

First problem was the spindle nut on the front. We managed to break my 1/2 inch tools. Had to get 3/4 inch tools including a 36 mm impact socket. Even then wound up using a four foot cheater pipe on the axle nut.
I am guessing the new rotor has the wheel bearings built in and if so clean the spindle well so the inner bearing race slides on easy enough.
I talked my brother into counting the slots on the new tone ring for the antilock brakes to see if they matched the old rotors. They matched.

Good luck
