I am friends with Hal Baer and his right hand man Rick from Baer Brakes. We were out to dinner the other night and I asked Rick why Baer did not offer a brake rotor for the GT350. Baer makes some of the best quality brake products on the planet. All done in house here in Phoenix in a shop full of CNC machines. A very impressive shop to say the least. Rick said he was not sure if the production numbers and demand was high enough to justify the cost of setup and production. I told him that he would be surprised of the production numbers of the 5 years so far and then the 2800 of the planned 2020 builds. Of course he has to factor in the number of limited use cars sitting under covers in garages against the track guys out killing rotors. I have searched for production numbers for all the years but I am having problems finding all the years. Can anybody help with production numbers? Thanks

I applaud the topic and commend your actions...what a great friend to have. But if they're gonna make rotors for us, please make matching front AND rear. Right now, almost nobody does that, and even if I speak alone, that's a show stopper for me. I know the one set of carbon disc are going to start producing rears, but now you're talking $10K for disc.

If the demand is there I don't see why Baer would not make anything that will sell. I know they would make them plain, drilled, slotted, of any combination as it is all done in house.

Baer sent me a set of 2-piece rotors and such, bad packaging and were heavily marred up. They did give me a refund without issue, good customer service, but wasnt impressed with the quality/care of shipment. I'd look into GiroDisc first, they have them for sale now.
Sorry to hear that. My experience has been very positive.

Does anybody have the production numbers?

They took care of the issue no questions asked, just was surprised at how dingy the packaging and stuff was, very insufficient. Otherwise good experience.

I am not here to debate the quality of the packaging of product. I have no horse in this race just trying to bring options to the masses. I did look into Optimal Performance a little bit and they might have the greatest rotors in the world I don't know. But they do look like a reseller and not a manufacturer with no mention of where their products are made.

Here are the 2018 production numbers. There must be similar schedules showing 15/16/17 production. The one for 19 will be available after 19 production stops

So if I am reading that correctly it looks like
2015 137
2016 6169
2017 6848
2018 4378
2019 TBD
2020 2800 projected

Thanks for everyone's input

The CCB rears are actually out there now - you just have to look under the right cars...

Yup...but like I said, now you have $10K in brake disc.

I think I also saw something that GiroDisc was gonna start making rears.

I get the benefits of "lightweight rims" without buying "lightweight rims". The trade-off works for me, but I agree it's not for everyone.
