I stick with the OEM Brembo pads. They're awesome, just dust a lot.

Hey man, I'm just exploring my options. I have 0 issues with the feel and power of the OEM Brembo pads, but if possible would like to reduce the squeakiness and brake dust. Finally, a man who understands function. Lol
in my experience the only brake pads i ever used that significantly reduced brake dust were akebono euro ceramics (on my old 540i) but the initial bite SUCKED and pedal feel was soft so it was a big trade off. they were pretty resistant to fade though. i'll gladly take some dust for added initial stopping power with the crazy drivers around hereHey man, I'm just exploring my options. That's okay. And it was not meant negatively towards you. Just wanted to say that.Hey man, I'm just exploring my options. I have 0 issues with the feel and power of the OEM Brembo pads, but if possible would like to reduce the squeakiness and brake dust.
The brakes are great and I'm very happy with them. The squeaking is annoying though and is inconsistent. Sometimes squeaks, sometimes won't, and it doesn't depend on dirtiness from my experience. I've also got the performance pack wheels which I love, but are IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean because 1-2 days of driving and they're maroon from brake dust. It looks like someone put a shop vacuum on reverse and blew dust all over the wheels. It's ridiculous. The wheels are hard enough to clean already due to design, and it doesn't help that they're dirty within 24 hours of cleaning them. That's okay. And it was not meant negatively towards you. I am just making a point that this is sports car "performance" brakes. They can squeak occasionally and will dust more than average. I say embrace it!
I can certainly understand where you're coming from. I swapped out performance street pads for a more DD friendly set (this is on my 4 piston calipers). But this wasn't just squeak. What I had was far more annoying. If not for that I'd have been ok leaving them.
The OEM Brembo pads are pretty good balance of noise and performance from everything that I hear.
The performance pack wheels are really hard to clean lol yeah. Perhaps try finding a spray on-rinse wheel cleaner to help keep it clean with minimal effort. The brakes are great and I'm very happy with them. The squeaking is annoying though and is inconsistent. In terms of performance and feel, I love the stock pads. Have never had any brake fade or squishiness when driving hard through canyons and they've been going strong for nearly 30,000 miles now. The squeakiness is what it is, but the brake dust drives me insane. Not sure I'm willing to sacrifice performance for no brake dust but I'm strongly considering it.
Well, you don't NEED to sacrifice performance to get rid of the dust. Many people have reported great results with the Powerstop Z23s and Z26s. Like I said in a previous post, less initial bite, which is good, because it allows you to modulate the pedal better (longer travel), but about the same overall bite. I'm confident that if I used the Track Apps for braking the Z23s against my stock pads (which I still have), the stock pads and the Z23s would be extremely close to each other in stopping distance, and the Z23s are quieter, dust less, and allow you to actually control the brake pedal, rather than just having an on/off switch. The brakes are great and I'm very happy with them. The stock pads are Ferodo and darn good, but as has been noted, huge dust! I went with Z23 and then Z26 and foolishly took both to the track and disintegrated both and had to scrape bits of pad away from the rubber seals as it looked like it would tear them. They were glazed as heck as well. The OEM pads are good ones, they do create a ridiculous amount of brake dust though and I found them to be a bit too grabby as you slow to a stop. If those are not issues for you, stick with OEM or go with Powerstop Z23 for street use, or Z26 if you do laps on the track.
which power stop pads would you recommend for just a daily driver? The stock pads are Ferodo and darn good, but as has been noted, huge dust! The stock pads (Ferodo DS2500 if I am not mistaken, there is a good thread here on that) I have been told are actually quite capable on the track from a PP2 buddy on slicks who ran that way all last year with numerous track days.
I've decided on going to a Hawk front pad for track and a PowerStop Z16 "clean ride" ceramic for street (which I've had on the car for a while now). Very low dust and fantastic, stock, initial bite. So I've had on the car Z23, Z26 and now Z16. But for sure if I ever hit a track, even for a mild track day I will swap over to a Hawk DTC50 for the front. (edit: I have the Ford OEM pads on the rear).
Oh yah... the powerstop hardware kit I have not had great luck with one set worked well, the other set didn't fit at all... so consider a new set of Ford hardware. ($40 per side).

So the moral seems to be if you want one pad the stock Ford Ferodo pad is the one to keep on the car, even if you do a track day or two, but you'll have to live with the dust.
Based on having the three sets, they performed nearly identical on the street. Maybe the Z26 was slightly louder than the Z23, but the Z16 claims the lowest dust of them all and it is super quiet.which power stop pads would you recommend for just a daily driver?
