Just wondering how many miles is normal to have to replace the brake pads? I've got just over 53k miles on my 16GT with the original pads and it feels like they may be starting to go, but no noise or real braking issues yet. A quick web search seems to estimate 30-40k on average. I just ordered a Scat Pack 1320 so hope they last for another 6-8 weeks or so, but don't want to push it either and damage the rotors.

Just take a wheel off and look how much pad you have left - it takes two minutes. My guess is you have at least months left of use in them.

If you're not hearing squeaking or squealing as you drive, it's not rubbing the rotors. A little squeak as you slow down means they're low, yes, but not dangerously low. I have a small bit of noise in the last five feet of each stop. It's embarrassing, but I have 30-40% pad left so probably just the clips need greasing.

They will last couple of years. People replacing pad here most of the time do that because they feel like it, not because they need to. My car will be 3 years old soon, lots of treshhold braking, pads are still good and have decent amount of material left.

Good input and I only drive about 5k miles a year, but they have 20k on them.
