Hello!

I have a 2016 GT with the 4 piston brake and Ford told me I need a maintenance done on the brakes. They ask 300$ for something I feel I can do myself.

Anyone could explain what they do exactly, if I can just get performance pad, refresh the grease and call it a day. Or do I need ot check the disk.

Thank you!

By maintenance you mean replacing? Other wise you should have to do anything.

What maintenance are they talking about? sprinkling some holy water and bless it? What could they possibly do to 1 yr old car's brake that will cost $300???

There's nothing to clean nor grease, unless they are taking the calipers completely apart which I highly doubt.

The only cleaning to possibly do is of the caliper itself and/or the hub...but you can do that yourself with some degreaser for $5 and a small brush. Even $30 for that is a ripoff, I bet the most they do is spray some wheel cleaner onto the whole wheel and caliper and hose it down. $300 for less than 10 minutes of work. I'd like that job.

Worse than the price is the fact that they are pushing this onto you as "needed" maintenance on a year old car. That's disturbing.
