I can't help but wonder.... if I was to buy a set of used Brembo 6 piston calipers off Ebay, can the existing 4 piston front calipers be moved to the rear?

(I'm assuming most of those Ford Brembos are from wrecked cars).

No, you cant just move your front rotors to the rear.

Brakets to mount them are very different, and the bias would be waaaay off. There may not be any clearance to other rear suspension parts either.

Nice try tho.

The parking brake wouldn't work for sure since the caliper doubles as the parking/e-brake via cable. Also, I doubt the distance from the hub face to the surface of the rotor is the same, which means that the space between the brake pads wont meet up with the rotor properly. (I don't know this for sure, but I'd bet a dollar on it).

Got it. Didn't even think about that. Was just curious if it works. If not, no big deal.

Yeah that would be cool. I suppose anything is possible with the right tools and machining equipment. You could make brackets to make it all line up, and then use a parking brake setup off of one of the aftermarket big brake kits. Obviously not worth the money or time, but possible. I think a good set of pads and rotors, as well as stainless lines will provide more than enough power to stop the tires from spinning even with the stickiest tires. (without ABS working its magic of course).
