Has anyone who has a performance package model when you put it in sports mode notice when you brake to slow down the front brakes grip hard even though you are not pushing the brake pedal hard, it feels like they want to lock up.I know they are piston brakes and I'm wondering if they need to be adjusted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the PP Eco and I don't notice any change to the braking in "sports mode" (I'm assuming you have a premium and are talking about the toggle switch that brings the car to 'S+')

The mustang brakes are very touchy in nature, but I'm not getting the brakes to lock up when I'm not pushing the pedal hard. I can very easily modulate them for city driving...

Hope this gives some insight. Good luck with your problem.

Yes I have the premium maybe I picked the wrong word lock up they grip hard when slowing down making a turn. They are touchy in sport + mode. Maybe I just need to keep it in sport mode all the time to get use to it.

It doesn't happen in normal mode or ice/rain mode. Going to try it in track mode tomorrow.

Have you ever driven a car with fixed piston front calipers before? That may be all it is. It's a different "feel" from the floating calipers found on the vast majority of cars on the road, including a non-PP Eco.

That is all...

Never drove one before until I bought the mustang. This is my first sports car since the early 80's. Yes I'm a old timer had family cars and ppv cars. Since I don't drive in sports mode all the time mainly in normal. I appreciate the info, maybe just drive in sport for awhile and see.

Maybe its just that the sport mode has a different throttle response and shifting points that you might feel the brakes are different

It's the trans. downshifting for engine braking. Perfectly normal.

The brakes bite pretty hard when they're cold, but that is normal. I've tried to lock mine up on the highway (80-20 emergency slowdown). They don't need to be adjusted at all.
Is your car new? (Like under 2000 miles)

As people have stated the brake sensitivity is not affected by the sport mode. However, I don't have an automatic, but I would assume in sport mode your rpms are going to be higher in that mode since its shifting higher in the rpm range, and by nature when you let off the gas "engine braking" may be more apprent in that mode. Also it may be more aggressive on the downshifts so when you are braking, your car is downshifting more aggressive to keep your rpms up in sport mode and resulting in a feel of more brake.
