Wow!! Anyone else find themselves cleaning the brake dust off the front wheels on a regular basis with the PP Brembos. The other day I looked at my car and the back wheels were two shades darker black then the front wheels. I know some people don't like the black wheels, but if the PP package came with lighter color wheels, they would be black anyway from all the dust! I'm very happy to have black wheels with these high performance brakes!!

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. I'll be changing out the pads all around soon enough.

Typically you only get 2 of the above.

DONT because any wheel cleaner will ruin the brake caliper finish, i tried them all, Mothers, Meguires, Armor All etc.

the PP wheels are a total pain in the ass to clean

I can recommend DODO JUICE Wheel Sealant Kit. A bit expensive but brake dust comes off very easily when wheels are sealed with it!

I tried these wheel sealants but on a black gloss rim it makes them hazy and it honestly doesn't help much

i will be calling my friends over at Carbotech soon to get a set of 1521 pads for the car. the OEM pads do work well and have great initial bite so once you eliminate dust then you also compromise bite and braking performance. on my race cars i use XP8 carbotechs and they are incredible but dust is horrible but to me that doesnt matter and those wheels are easy to clean. the PP wheels are very hard to keep clean but their design

My commentary was a lighthearted attempt to draw attention to the spelling of the word 'brake' and 'break' when talking about brakes :) I personally use distilled water to remove the extra surface dust with a microfiber cloth, then wipe it down again with another clean cloth. I have an '01 Bullitt that has pads which produce a lot of brake dust, and this is how I clean them. I usually am cleaning fairly frequently so it doesn't build up too significantly. This car isn't a daily driver though.

It breaks my heart to keep cleaning that stuff off, but it's one of those "pay to play" deals, I think.

S100 Total Cycle Cleaner. No wiping, just spray it on and hose off. Will not harm anything. Just make sure you cool the wheels down with water first.

In the Q&A with Jamal Hameedi regarding the GT 350, he mentioned the reason Ford went with black wheels with the PP and the GT 350 was for this exact reason.

Yes, when you have massive brakes you will have brake dust. Just buy some S100 and problem is solved.

I am looking for what type of brake pads do I need for the front and the back. I have a 2015 GT PP and I am going to take it to the track once a week. I know I am going to burn through the stock ones and want to have the replacements available. Help. Thanks.
