Anyone else notice their Brembos putting off a good amount of brake dust? I'm at 1000 miles now and I have lost count of how many times my front black Performance Pack wheels turn brown. I think I have washed the car 3 times now and it doesn't take long for them to turn brown again. Maybe 4-5 days. This is with normal braking habits. It's been to cold/nasty for any spirited driving.

That being said, what pad options do we have at the moment? If any? Not seeing anything on the Mustang parts sites just yet. I have always ran the Hawk HPS pads in the past and have been happy with them.

Atleast they aren't squealing... Yet.

Normal for brembos. It'll lessen some but will always be an issue. I've got 4000 miles on mine almost now and it's not as bad but still quite a mess. I usually end up washing the car because of the wheels before the body actually needs it

Ahhh, this is my first car with Brembos. Funny you mention that because the 2nd wash was mostly because of the wheels. Body wasn't all that bad. Lol.

I put a coat of high quality sealant on my rims...def helps make it easier to wash/keep clean as the dust rolls off easier.

Like a hand applied paint sealant (wax)? Or a spray?

I replaced my original Brembo pads with Hawk Ceramics on my 2011 and brake dust has been GREATLY reduced. Before it would only take a few days to completely cover my wheels, now it takes months before you can tell and the dust is a much lighter grey color than the brown Brembo dust.

Performance wise, was there a difference? Thx

I do the same, I spray on wax the rims and hand dry them. my rims are black so not too bad, but makes a big difference cleaning them. I can hose the rims down and dry them off. the break dust is gone. twice a month I wax the rims.

I have specific wheel wax but anything to cut down on the dust with a different pad that will perform as good if not better than stock would be nice.

When I ran hawk pads on my previous Stang, I always had little to no brake dust. Some things I personally noticed was that they where not as grabby when they where cold. They required a little extra pedal pressure. Once they warmed up, they felt normal. Once hot, they always performed flawlessly with no fade whatsoever. I did get an occasional squeal every now and again, but nothing annoying.

I can't find a listing anywhere for the 6 piston Brembos on the '15 yet. I beleive the '15 performance pack Brembos are the same as the Brembos on the 13-14 Gt500. But i am not 100% on that. I am gonna do some research.

I traded out the stock pads on my FoST for ceramics due to brake dust, slightly less grab but no more daily cleaning was worth it. Ceramics are also harder on the rotor, but on a street car it is not really an issue.

I have not found any ceramics for our Brembos as yet, nor can I get confirmation that the '13-'14 GT500 pads are the same.

Curious on your take on the Hawk's as well.

They took a few days to bed-in, in that time they had very reduced initial bite. Once they bed-in I can't tell any performance difference. Also very little to no squeal as well, perhaps a little when cold. I've done a few panic stops, mostly low speed, once at 50ish mph, very solid braking power.
