Moved my R back to its car cave I share with a buddy... took the GT4 to Sebring. It was a Sunday Funday with a few other good friends... one with the smurf blue FoRS and another with a supercharged '10 Mustang GT but unfortunately his transmission decided to cease & desist in the beginning of our 2nd session. Bummer but he was my passenger for the afternoon so we still had some fun.

Boy this thread sure got the better of me. I was looking to see if I could find a time for the R at Sebring and out of no where I'm back over a year.

Not yet... my R is still a pampered baby. Haven't even past 1k miles yet on the odo...
But I did track my ex-'15 GT350 Track Pack a few times at Sebring... I never pushed it past 8/10ths but was able to do a personable best of 2:36 bone stock on MPSS.

^So there's a few laps from May 2016... now I know for sure that car is for sure a sub-2:30 when driven harder. Like my buddy Mike does with his... iirc, he has cambered plates and runs on much stickier R-comp tires. :hail:

I am estimating an R should be mid-'20's like 2:25 or even less... in stock form but Sebring is technical so one has to fly thru corners and exit fast.

My very busy car week.... from CA to UT to GA to FL.
I took tons of pics literally and a bunch of videos.... but here are some highlights from my trip. I can't wait to do it again! :headbonk:
Started off in southern CA (Los Angeles and Torrance) for the Luftgekuhlt events (luftgekuhlt = aircooled in German) and it's easily one of the best Porsche shows I have ever been to. Luftgekuhlt was pioneered by Patrick Long, the Porsche racecar driver, along with Howie Idelson.
Legendary Porsche drivers and developers... including Alois Ruf, Vic Elford, and Patrick Long here at the Petersen Museum to kick things off.
On 4/21 Saturday morning, I was at AutoClub Speedway in Fontana for the California Festival of Speed. A huge PCA car show and track event!
Got to do some parade laps too!
And then that afternoon I was invited to a private Porsche party in Newport Beach...
Sunday 4/22 at Luft5 held at Ganahl Lumber Yard in Torrance. A perfect venue too.... who would think a lumber yard would make a cool & unique logistical setting! One of the best Porsche shows ever... then again California is Porsche capital U.S.A.
After Luftgekuhlt.... I went joydriving as a passenger in my friend's GT4. Rancho Palos Verdes overlooking towards Catalina Island
And then.... off to UMC on 4/23-24 for some very fun off-roading as part of the Raptor Assault.
The fun continues.... at Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta on 4/25 Wed morning.
Unobtanium.....the new widowmaker: 991.2 GT2RS
That same day in the afternoon, I headed to Road Atlanta in my new 2018 Ecoboost manual Mustang rental.
For the SCCA Track Night in America... my first time in RA so I ran with the Intemed. group.
This track is gnarly and fun! Stunning elevations and crazy blind corners... just wow!!
My first time to track RA.... it's simply amazing! Loved it!

You guys know this Exocet's main driver's name.... starts with Randy.
Flew back to FL late Wed and on Thurs 4/26 I actually drove my GT3 back to PEC ATL! :lol:
I was part of the One Porsche Drive Tour... Porsche activities galore and a fun run from PEC to Road Atlanta - The Mitty.
Followed the lead car driven by PEC Atlanta's Ray Shaffer and his awesome 964 Turbo.... lots of small town & back country road driving
Group southern dining lunch at the Blue Willow Inn...
Classic Motorsports car corral at RA....
Freight train parade laps at RA..... I was kinda bored here going slow since I got more familiar with the track from Wednesday's trackday.
But a turn 11 descent POV here...
Just to add.... I was too late to register for the Smokies GT so next year I plan to...

Went back to FL Saturday 4/28.... but made some pitstops in southern Georgia's back county sights & roads.

That looks like it was an incredible trip! Thanks for posting! Where did they take you for the Raptor Assault? I'm 5 minutes from UMC.

I believe in the mountains & hills east of Stockton.... off of Rt 36? Eagle Mountain... Bald Mountain... not 100% sure but in that vicinity. There were lots of nice trails and we got up to elevation of over 7,000 feet. It was a good 30+ minute drive just to go to the mountains from UMC.
