Anyone know what the overall length of the Borla SwitchFire is? Currently have Steeda H-Pipe and considering swapping it with the SwitchFire. According to Steeda, the H-Pipe I have is 32" long. Since the SwitchFire slips over the rear pipe, verses a butt connection like most resonator deletes, it would have to be about 33.5" or more long to work for me, without having to rig the connection up.

I emailed Borla asking how long the length is for this purpose and was responded with "We don't share that level of detail".
Can anyone declassify the length?

When I compared the two, they were almost identical in overall length. If it's any help, the Switchfire instructions have you cut 4 3/8" from the factory resonator.

Did you have the cut already done for Steeda? Looks like it would be about an inch and a half short since the switchfire goes over the rear pipe rather than butt connect

I did not. I had purchased a Steeda but decided to go with the Switchfire. I held them side by side to see if I could still go with the Steeda if I changed my mind and they were very similar in length. I didn't take into consideration that they attached different on the rear until you said something about it.

It's roughly 32" long judging by the marks left in the foam in was packed in.

Thanks. I'm thinking I can probably use a short 2.5" pipe to insert into the switchfire and use the existing butt clamp to make up the 1-1.5" difference or so.

Did you end up having any issues switching from the steeda H pipe to switchfire? I’m considering making the same switch.

No, luckily. See attached pictures. The Borla is a hair longer than the Steeda which makes up for the difference of the Borla sliding into the rear pipe verses the butt connection of the Steeda. I’m actually waiting for my Borla S-types to come in which I plan on pairing the the Switchfire. It sounds good but the high RPM still doesn’t do it for me. Make sure you do a KAM reset after you install though, it makes a difference.

Why does resetting KAM make a difference?

I guess going from the h pipe to switchfire it might not be necessary because there’s not much change in restriction but from the stock to switchfire for sure and any muffler change as it’ll change the back pressure.

I'm just not sure how necessary it really is. The ECU is doing more adjustments on the regular due to changes in atmospheric conditions. I doubt any part that doesn't require a tune is going to benefit from a KAM reset. Could you see better performance from an exhaust & tune? Sure, but that more likely has to do with easing up the factory tune's restrictions more than exhaust flow restrictions.
All I know is I’ve definitely noticed a change when I did a kam reset after any exhaust change. When I went from factory resonator to H-pipe the sound definitely changed before/after a KAM RESET. Same thing when I changed to the switchfire. It was a much higher pitch for the first two drives, then I did a kam reset and it got much deeper. Not sure what the reasoning is but it made a difference in my car.
