Option 2 to start then add to that later with the boost as stated.

Reason all the setups I have done the ones that boosted first hated the fact they couldnt grip at all until they upgraded the wheels and tires, so they werent able to actually use the power until then properly.

My first and only real performance mod was slicks, no sense in more hp until I master getting 435 to the ground. I'm slow to mods because I plan on having my car for awhile so I'm in no hurry. So to answer your question I would go option 2 first especially if your planning on having her for awhile.

435 is plenty of power.

Suspension first. It has enough trouble coping with the stock amount of power

You don't have to go crazy-stiff or spend a ton of money on it . . . unless you're lumping the tires and wheels as suspension rather than powertrain. You're going to need more than OE when you do settle on one particular forced induction and its tune.

Brakes, yes, but you should be OK with a real pad upgrade and maybe fluid as long as you aren't tracking it on a road course.

I think it's going to be easier to choose a suspension, so you can do this while you're putting in your research on the forced induction. Don't hurry the big-ticket item.

Not really but everyone has an opinion.
For the average person, yes, 435hp is plenty of power.

For the seasoned racer? Maybe not, but then not many people would sit in a 5.0 and call it "slow".

I mean that like my buddy with his monster built c7 z06 nothing is enough power for him.

This statement really makes me think I should do boost first. How can I be sure I've chosen the right suspension set up?

I don't really take the curvies fast, I just like to hammer the straights from a roll. Does this change any opinions?
That's what I expected you wanted. Straights on the street. I would definitely go boost first. I personally was tired of 435 and wanted more, but I decided not to do boost because I didn't want to go to 600+ yet. Every few years I seem to get used to the power I have and want more. I'm worried if I go up in power too fast everything will bore me. That is partially why I bought the GT350 - it's an intermediate step into the 500+ hp range without going all the way up 600+ right away. Plus I really like twisties. For you it seems like boost might be a better way to go.

I don't think you paid attention to his post. He's had the car for a while, so obviously he knows how to get 435 HP to the ground. He's getting sick of 435 and wants more. I think you are right though about sticky tires being helpful in hooking up the power. Since he drives on the street he might just want to have fun spinning the stock tires at will. The problem with sticky tires is they can shock the drive train and break other things.

Agreed. :)

i did vmp tvs first and am going to build around it. the main reason i went with the blower first is ive been wanting one for like 8 years and im a cheap ass and if i put off i probably wouldnt ever buy it. im in no rush to really mod my car so once the blower is on i can do a few little pieces here...few there..etc

Trade it in for a PP/MT82 car, then do even more suspension mods.

Then go to a FATT and learn how to drive it.

Then get more power.

Hell, if I were you, I'd skip the SCer, and do complete exhaust, JTL CAI, Lund tune, and get close to 480HP. And maybe spend money taking weight out of the car.

Then you'd have a really, really fun car to drive.

700HP will just have you end up up-side-down in a hedge .

Maybe not for people who drag race but it's plenty for street use.
Ehh, if you've driven around with 435 hp for a few years it doesn't seem like that much any more. Especially not in a car that weighs 3700+ lbs. I've never drag raced. I can tell you that 435 HP does seem like a lot on the road course, but not so much on the street. Just one guy's opinion. If they could get the Mustang down to 3,000 lbs or so, 435 HP would be a lot of power.

Solid advice that more people should follow. I think most people want HP #'s just to brag about though.

Sure...but to get 435hp to the ground, he will need some kind of engine mods regardless of the tires.
Yes but what you want is the foundation prior to the power. Its like you workout your arms and chest but not your legs and its your legs that hold the rest of you.up.
