Was looking to see if anyone with boosted 18 and up mustangs have encounter any engine problems once F/I is added I’m looking forward to getting one but have been hearing so much horrible things about the 18 and up engines as far as ticks and pistons slap is concerned

Has this issue been addressed ? Or should I stay far away ?

I've got a Whipple Stage 2 kit on my '18 MT-82 car. 13K on the car with 5K of those boosted. Just over 700 to the wheels on 93 currently, I don't baby it, and I've had no issues. These cars love boost.

you can have an issue with any car, nothing specific to the 18, if your worried, you can always do a roush setup that backs up a 3 yr 36k powertrain warranty

feell free to hit me with any questions, we deal with every mfg out there for forced induction

4,000 miles on 10-11 psi with a whipple on my ‘19, no issues so far. About to switch to e85 and turn it up to 14psi or so. The only difference is they’re just more sensitive to fuel quality with the higher compression. I had to actually take a pound of boost out (hence the 11 to 10 psi) because my pump gas is such garbage.

Makes perfect sense I’ve heard something similar before

2018 whipple stage 2. I’m at 17000 miles now, about 14000 boosted. Mine has a minor piston slap that’s its done since new. The engine has been rock solid for me. No measurable oil consumption either, even on 10k drain intervals.

I'm running the 3.75 pulley, so around 11ish psi. I have good 93 where I am, but I also run boostane with it to cover the times when gas quality might not be optimal.
