So the car made a handful of passes down the track the other night. I would be lying if I said I am not extremely thrilled with the results.

This car is being covered through various media outlets, so the power level and ET's - I am somewhat limited on exact specifics. So that said;

The car is making KILLER power. The slip below is at roughly 3800lbs raceweight, and is on a soft/base tune. Power, Shifts, and RPM are about as conservative as it gets with my combo, on this specific pass.

For now, that's all I can really share.

Rest assured, the posted results in about a week from now are REALLY going to be nice. ;)

Well, in the interest of not oiling down tracks.....I have decided to do a quick engine upgrade.

The car is making so much power right now with the VMP Gen II....I am really nervous about trying to push OEM parts so far.

That said, I will likely be throwing a new shortblock in that consists of an FRPP Engine Block, Mahle Pistons, Manley Rods and a new stock Crank.

I may use the stock stuff (pistons/rods/crank) for a project side build, high RPM N/A type deal. ;)

Yes, it is definitely the soft tune. I did not say soft boost though. Nothing soft about 15psi. ;)

To stress how soft the tune was for that pass, the car made 675rwhp on the tune that was in the car. 15psi and 675rwhp is about as soft as it gets. lol

FWIW, with the same blower, same power level and same exact raceweight, our 2011 GT went 1.39 sixty foot. 10.1@137.

The 1/8 mile on the pass in the 2011 was a [email protected]

Primary difference is, the '11 had 3.73 gear and a CircleD 2C Converter.

Interesting if you think about it.

I think the Gen II along with the new heads and cams are showing up at the track!

So - between busy season, getting sick twice, and a few other causes for delay....this thread has fallen off pretty hard. The build has not though!

I pulled the engine out in March to strengthen it, and push it hard.

Here is the accurate engine build detail list:

Heads/Cams - Re-using the stock pieces.
Engine Block - NEW 2015 Engine Block
Rods - Manley H-Beam w/ ARP2000 Bolts
Pistons - Mahle Cobra Jet Spec w/ rings (std bore, 11.1 CR)
Crank - NEW OEM "Boss" Crank
Bearings - Clevite
Headgaskets - OEM
Headbolts - OEM
Mainstuds - OEM
Oil Pump Gears - MMR Billet
Crank Gear - MMR Billet
Damper Bolt - ARP

All else is OEM. New OEM hardware for all of the other items like the cam bolts, cam cap screws, etc.

I have also acquired a Nitrous Express Kit, that I will be posting pics of at a later time.

The engine parts have come back from balancing...and we are going to go forward on the assembly starting this weekend.

I hope to have it up and running again within 1-2 weeks.

I will have many photos to share soon - like, A LOT.

Let's get the party started. ;)

Awesome. Doesn't the 2015 come with a forged crank already?
