BMR Handling springs installed

I threw them on and very happy with the stance and ride. It's almost unbelievable how compliant they are. I was scared they'd be harsh, but they are perfect. I don't think the factory PP shocks/struts will do poorly on this setup. I'd imagine most would be satisfied. I'm going to ride them through 2016 and pick up a set of konis about a year from now.

Stock wheels, with 245/45/19 winter tires.

These are the SP083 right? Right now, these are on the top of my suspension mods list once the Koni Yellows are launched (this or the FRPP track pack).

Did you change out the bumpstops and shave them like Kelly suggested?
Did you have to get the car aligned?
The drop seems good for me. Less than the Steedas.
Can you share impressions on handling (Vs stock) when you can, especially with the Koni Yellows and once you get the summer tires.


Also really glad to hear the ride is compliant and good for DD'ing. I was worried these would be too harsh and the spring rate is very high. Really surprised the factory dampers work well with these as I though the PP was underdamped (hence the bouncyness).

Yes, they are the handling springs. Mine were actually labelled as the individual axle numbers sp084 and sp085.

It's hard to judge height on mine since I have a square 245/45/19, which means narrower rear tires that mess with the rear looks, and taller tire in the front than stock.

I haven't had an alignment done, but will next week. I actually have to redo a bit of the install, I buggered up 2 strut bolts, and somehow took a small chunk out of a front brake line. I have zero clue how the brake line happened, could have been there the entire time, just noticed it. I'll be doing an alignment after I get all that squared away.

Initial thoughts: The ride is great, very composed/firm, but not harsh. Over large elevation changes or long highway bumps (hard to explain) you can tell the car is under damped, but really impressed with how the PP shocks are coping. The car changes direction much more quickly and precisely than stock. I'm really looking forward to the summer setup. Also wheel hop is about 25% better. Of course brake dive and acceleration squat are reduced.

I'll post back up in the spring once I have the summers on. I'll also be doing Mid Ohio in April so that'll be sweet ;)

Thanks. The improvements to direction quickness, squat, dive and wheel hope sound really good - esp given there is no tradeoff really. Any improvement in steering feedback?

Keep in mind that this is on taller squishy winters but yes. I can tell the surface differences much better now, through the wheel (smooth pavement, course pavement, concrete etc) other than that, I'll have to wait on the summer tires but I expect great things.

Food for thought: I put the PP rear dampers on my base car over the summer and it is quite a bit more bouncy on the right roads, but handles noticeably better all around. I think the PP is a little underdamped relative to track use (thus higher velocities, more frequently quick direction changes), but is actually overdamped in the low speed & low displacement region...thus the freeway chop.
