So not to be off topic but is changing transmission fluids the best option to attempt to get rid of the noise? It's just about the only thing I don't love about the car.

Have heard of fluid changes improving shifting but not the thud. The thud seems to be a charming characteristic of the mt-82.

Is anybody running their blowfish bracket with a steeda transmission mount insert. Is that overkill? I also know that whiteline came out with one but it seems to add more nvh compared to the steed one, but with this said any info will be welcomed on either blowfish/steeda combo or blowfish/whitleline combo.

I'd think it would be overkill yes.

I suspect you'll have your hands full with noise/vibration if you leave the trans bushing in.

Yes you should remove the Steeda bushing insert. The Steeda bushing insert along with the shifter bushing fix the transmission and the shifter to the chassis. In that scenario the chassis is used to align the shifter to the transmission at the expense of higher NVH transmitted to the chassis from the transmission. The Blowfish and similar brackets (Boomba Racing etc.) fix the shifter housing directly to the transmission housing. This gives you more precise shifts as the shifter is then aligned directly with the transmission without relying on the chassis and in addition there is no to very little increase in NVH as there is nothing fixed to the chassis. Those transmission brackets are more expensive than chassis bushing fixes but worth it.

I kept the bushing in place with the blowfish and I got no complaints and vibration is more than stock but totally tolerable.

All I'm saying is that if you remove it, you'll have the same results with less vibration.

Boomba has a shifter bracket? Where is it listed?

Isn't this kinda like what Steeda has? What's different with yours?

Just installed my BFR shifter bracket today and so far it is great. Much more precise shifts and no 3rd gear lock out when shifting like a mad man! Love it so far! Very little increased vibration and you only notice it when holding on to the shifter (of course).
