I had a very positive experience dealing with Steve Puffpaff. The bracket is a great piece of kit, the installation instructions are clear and straightforward, and the assembled unit feels significantly tighter and more positive than stock.

To be precise, it is a shifter support bracket (I'm sure this is what you meant).

Nice piece. Does what it says. Dramatic improvement in shifter feel (no more bushing slop), and significantly improves shifter performance by aligning the shift rod with the transmission.

Lastly, much easier to take this out if warranty work on the MT-82 were ever a concern.

It won't void your warranty if you install it. It would be impossible for the dealer to prove that did any harm to your vehicle.

That said if you pick up the mgw shifter this bracket is kind of useless.

True.
But on the other hand the dealership sevice tech may ask you to take the car home and uninstall it first, especially it if impedes anything (for instance transmisson work) they may need to do under warranty. The dealer has no obligation to uninstall aftermarket parts to perform warranty work, especially if they didn't do the installation of said part.
