For those who have them installed how do you like it? Don't care much about nvh but I want no lockouts. I noticed at some roll racing after a couple of runs I'll start getting locked out of 3 and 4 sometimes. Would this help me with my problem?

Get the MGW Race Spec and be done with it. I've had both and the MGW is the top of the food chain. simply AMAZING how it transformed the MT-82 shifting experience. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLL worth the money.

I know that MGW is top notch but I don't care for short throw I just don't want to get locked out of gear.

So you wanna just use the OEM shifter and combine that with the Blowfish Bracket???

I have it on my car with the stock shifter and I couldn't be happier with it. My favorite mod I've done to the car so far.

Love mine. Made a huge difference in feel and a significant difference in actual shift quality. Keeps the linkage aligned with the transmission. Good price point. Easier to deal with a transmission warranty issue (can easily remove). The calculus worked for me.

Will either the blowfish or the mgw get rid of the thump going into gear on my PP with 3.73's

I have it on mine. PIA to install with the exhaust on. save the broken knuckles and take it off. made a world of difference and only added about 30 mins to the job. i love the feel of mine. i feel the road a lot more. some people may not like that feel, i love it.

I did mine with no exhaust on as well. It wasn't a big deal since I was doing my cat back the same day but I can see how it would be a pain to put on with the exhaust in place.

Did anyone else have the height issue like i recall one guy having where the shifter was higher than stock afterwards and possibly could causing rubbing issues?

The thump seems to be internal to the transmission. Something about input shafts and other bits spinning until the synchros engage and inertia and a unit that can handle 600+ horsepower having more mass than the unit in a Miata and stuff.

So no. It won't get rid of the thump.

So not to be off topic but is changing transmission fluids the best option to attempt to get rid of the noise? It's just about the only thing I don't love about the car.

Just installed mine on today, did it with a lift and no need to remove the exhaust (Flowmaster CB, meaning bigger pipes to deal with at the front). Had it done in 20 mins. Put the car o the ground and even before rolling it the difference in feel was pronounced... super connected. Once I drove it, I was slapping gears faster than before, builds up confidence 100% that you won't miss. That feeling that you have to guess the gear is completely gone!!! Highly recommended and super happy how easy it was to install.
