BLIS is alright, but I find the cross-traffic alert that's part of the same system to be far more valuable.

Yes, there's a third-party system for $319 from Goshers. Sonics sells it:My wife drives my car sometimes, and I think it would be a good tool. Is it possible to retrofit my car with BLIS?
Interesting, but I wanted something integrated into the side mirror.Yes, there's a third-party system for $319 from Goshers. Sonics sells it:

It has a nice visible quarter-sized visual indicator on each side:
If you're concerned for her safety (and for the car), you can also buy those backup sensor beeping systems for pretty cheap. Here's one for like twenty bucks on Amazon that has an LED distance bar:

There's all kinds of interesting aftermarket safety systems available. Like if you're worried about her scuffing the wheels on curbs, they have piping systems for that, and you can even choose the color:

All depends on how much you want to spend & how much you want to cut up & customize your car![]()
Hmm. I haven't seen a third-party solution for side-mirror integration. You may be able to go the DIY route by ordering the replacement parts from Ford. That's what I did with my previous car (Kia Soul) - the manual transmission model is only sold in base (with no features) & I really wanted cruise control; the electronics were already there, all it needed was a cord & the plastic button piece for the steering wheel to work.Interesting, but I wanted something integrated into the side mirror.
