Where can i purchase a blank rear decklid ? I have searched everywhere and they are all either matte finish or are the new 2018 version with the lines. Im looking for just a gloss black rear decklid for a howler badge to put on.

ford performance discontinued the one for the 15-17 a while ago, so youd have to find one used for that. another option is make your own. I also believe MMD on AM makes one but I don't know how close the black color matches

thats what i was afraid of..ive looked on AM and it looks to be a matte finish, and one looks to be just a cover which fitment looks off on.

you're in luck! Ford Performance just came back out with theirs, and its priced competitively with the rubbish MMD panel, I got screwed because I bought the MMD panel from AM and they were kind enough to exchange it for the slightly better MP Concepts, then I see the Ford piece has been brought back

i was looking for the 2015-2017 version with no lines across the panel. appreciate the response.

Only thing to note about the above one is the lines in the middle of it (either side of whatever emblem you place).

ah shit! didnt even realize it had lines! look into the MP Concepts panel from AM then, it is better than the MMD panel, and cheaper too

MMD can be ordered painted Shadow Black which looks like a gloss black.

I received one as a gift and had a buddy paint it gloss black for me, looks good and almost an exact match to the tail light bezels.

I just got the new Ford Performance one in. Its...ok. some scuffing of the edges out of the box, and the lines are a bit more distracting than I thought they'd be.

Might look better with an emblem, but I might just take my old decklid to a bodyship and have it filled/painted.

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the MP concepts decklid and all I can say is that I was extremely impressed with the packaging and the fit and finish. A few gripes though: 1.) the weather stripping is missing on the back of the aftermarket piece and you really can't transfer the material from the stock one with out ripping and tearing it. #2) the gaps are uneven on both sides but you'ld only notice if you know what to look for. Otherwise, a simple DIY that makes a huge difference in how the rear looks. Also, be sure you transfer all of your clips and hardware from the OEM piece; the instructions on the MP Concepts mention transferring some over but not all. I missed the 2nd set of hardware on the underside of the panel so i had to take my new panel off once I installed it. Because of this, when i popped if off after installing it, it jumped out of my hands and fell onto my perfect bumper and left 2 marks. I like to think that if this were originally in the instructions it came with, I wouldn't have missed this and wouldn't have had to take it off after first installing it...thus, i wouldn't have 2 dings that make me sick.
