Hello everyone,

I went to Krazy House Customs in Monmouth Junction, NJ about 1.5 months ago to get a dyno tune for my 5.0.

I arrived there with the vehicle, they told me they will do it sometime during the day and i can pick it up at the end of the day. I was fine with that. I left and then came back to get my car. When i got back, before paying, i asked for the dyno sheet to see the results, they told me they do not have it because someone left with the USB stick with files on it but they will email it to me the following day. Seemed odd but i decided to trust them.

Next day comes, nothing in my email. I contact them and ask whats going on, they proceed to tell me that actually the dyno computer broke and they lost all of the dyno files that they have so they cannot provide me the dyno sheet. Keep in mind that the previous day they said the USB drive was missing. Immediately i was suspicious. They said they are getting an IT guy to come get the computer and get it fixed. At this point i thought they just uploaded a generic tune file to my car and it was never on the dyno. I contacted the tuner himself and he told me there was a custom tune done on the car. But who knows.

About a week went by and i had to constantly keep contacting them to get any updates or answers, they have never reached out to me. Eventually they tell me the computer was fixed but the files were not recovered so i have to come back for a dyno run to get the results. This shop is about 1.5 hours from my house. After some back and forth they agreed to give me back $50 for my troubles of having to come back. We agreed on a date and i was going to go.

Right before i had to come in, my car threw a misfire code so i had to take it to the dealer and get it fixed via warranty. I told the dyno shop what had happened and i said i will reach back out once i have my car back.

About 2 weeks pass by and i have my car back. I reach out to them in regards to coming in for a dyno run and i received no reply. I emailed them and nothing. They just completely ignored me. At this point i will never go back there and i wanted to let others know that this shop is suspicious and they do business in a very poor manner. Incredibly unprofessional, refused to take blame at first and were lying to me. I just wish i did not pay them until after i got my results. Oh well, lesson learned.

I have proof of all of this via email. If anyone is interested to see it, please PM me and i will gladly share the entire conversation so that you don't go there either.

If I understand it right you went to the dealer and they repaired it and didn’t mention anything about a tune that was downloaded on it?

So what did the butt dyno read? Any driveability issues? What did the dealer say was wrong with your car?

They put the tune file on my tuner so I was able to put the car back to stock and then put the tune back on once I got the car back.

Butt dyno read higher numbers for sure. I'd say another 30-40 whp or so. I forgot the exact issue but they replaced some rubber lines that were clogged apperantly. They also replaced one of the actuators for the active exhaust.

I've heard stories about this place in the past, the shop I used to frequent when I still lived in Central NJ said they had a low mile GT500 come in making some gear noises, the guy had KHC do a gear install on the car a few weeks prior. Needless to say it was not done correctly.

If you're looking for a tuner in NJ I would only trust one shop, Kevin Hand @ Wicked Motorsports. A couple of my friends used his shops with good results, he's been popular with the terminator guys for almost 2 decades now, very polite guy. I never got a chance to get my car tuned by him because he's a one man shop who is so busy (the only real problem w/ him, long wait times to get in and sometimes out). but I've been to his shop twice and he was more than happy to show me around the place and walk me through his process.

If you can fit into his schedule, I'd highly recommend Kevin @ Wicked.

If you're willing to go on a bit more of a trip, I ended up going to a shop that Kevin has a friendly business relationship with and I believe they teach SCT tuning classes with each other to other tuners. They also usually send each other business based on where the customer is geographically, so the fact that they were willing to give up business to each other for the benefit of the customer I knew this guy must be just as good.

I went to Adam @ Revolution Automotive in Rosedale MD. Adam has been very popular with the DC/MD/VA area Ford guys for a very long time. He's also the tuner for Vaughn Gittin's drift cars and was spoken of highly by Mr. YDBT, Alex Flores from Lund Racing. (I met Alex 2 years ago at Carlisle, he asked who tuned my car, when I told him it was Adam from Rev Auto he said "Ah, perfect, you're in good hands. Adam knows his stuff!"

Just to be clear, I brought Adam my eaton swapped, 6spd manual swapped Marauder to write a tune from scratch that would also pass NJ emissions. He came through with flying colors and I will bring him my Mustang to tune once the warranty is up and I am at the point where I need a dyno tune. Very friendly staff, customer cars are kept indoors (that is not common!) overall a great experience.

I would honestly suggest having it redone and going to a ford specialty shop, search around online, do a lot of googling and see what kind of reputation they have. I don't usually trust shops that are "All in one, we can work on anything ever made!" like KHC.
