In all fairness, I've said it many times, they do a great job for the vast majority of their customers. They're great, until they're not. If you happen to be one of the limited few that something special or custom needs attention, they're not the answer.

Look, the tuner industry is a high demand highly bifurcated business, customers of whom range from the inexperienced defined as those who think they want something but haven't the slightest clue of what that is to the highly experienced, well capitalized and often sponsored professional race teams running in sanctioned, organized events on race tracks regionally, nationally and even globally.

Overall this is a multi-billion dollar market in sales annually (I don't know the numbers I haven't researched a reliable source for the figure as yet) and there are a limited number of providers. And those providers come from various origins when you begin to understand how the industry developed and grew to what it is today.

Not to discount at all the displeasure, anguish and grief I've read here and I fully understand the the horrific experiences and economic loss as described in this thread..... this is far from being an easy business to manage or control for that matter. Tuner companies have regulatory mandates to remain in compliance with and demand for services grows exponentially whereby the select few with deep pockets (professional racing entities and those with "connections") get all the attention.

Lund likely has arrived at an inflection point in the life cycle of its business. They most likely are compelled to NOW determine what they want to be. They need to determine what's best for them and I suspect they'll remain status quo until someone on their organization determines a differentiation strategy that enables them to enjoy an economic profit however they choose to segment the market with one simple caveat..... KEEP THE SERVICE PROMISE. I view this as a management problem more than anything else. Let the free market system do its function in developing more providers to service this tuning industry. More competition means more options for customers (lemmings, leaders, followers, foxes.... whoever they are) and that means reasonable pricing for reasonable services.

Let the games begin. More tuners!

What happens when the world goes all electric? There will always be the drama metric.

P1 tuners are another great option. They are newer guys but very good and they tune on all platforms like PCMtec and HPtuners and even SCT if you already have one of those devices. I know them personally and they helped me get over the hump when I was tuning my car a few times. Along with Wengerd who is also world class. But try reaching out to P1. They will break their backs to get your car right.

Im trying to decide between P1 and HPJ in Illinois for my user selectable ethanol tune. Dan Estal at P1 would be my tuner. HPJ is a bit hard to get ahold of. But i can go there in person and do a street and dyno tune. Which feels like its worth something. Hard to decide.

Dan as become a great friend of mine. He’s a stand up guy and extremely knowledgeable. That would be my choice. He can get you sorted remotely easily. There is no need to be in person really as long as you can log for him. Same with any tuner. Dan is literally the man.

Would be easier than a 7 hour round trip and a hotel stay. I just need a GT350 maf table, user selectable ethanol, and a 91/93 tune. And maybe somewhat better A10 shifting!

Well he's got all my a10 data. So you are guaranteed to get that or a variation of it. I had mine shifting like a Cadillac at part throttle and a DCT at WOT. I FINALLY figured it all out and then sold the car two weeks later. I decided to exit the drag racing game for a while and do something else.

For a few thousand dollars... And yet with millions Ford can't find their own arse.
