Definitely my favorite. The Gen 2 cars are a little different but the S type is still spot on with those cars. Mine is an active Gen 3 car and I couldn't be happier. I plan to do headers too eventually and really look forward to it :)
Adding headers makes it extremely loud LOL. I always have people saying how loud it is on cold starts. It sounds really good still, just alot louder... When it's warm though you can still cruise at lower RPM and be fairly quiet!

I went with the MBRP Race catback because I felt like everyone has either the ATAKs or the Extremes. I wanted something different and deeper and I'm very happy with my decision. It definitely drones some on the highway, though.

There are several good options for the Convertible, the big thing you don't want is drone. The systems that don't have drone are Borla, Corsa, & Ford Racing. The other this is X-pipe or H-pipe, X-pipe is more raspy or some say exotic sounding and H-pipe is s deeper sound more of a old school muscle car sound.

Just eliminating the factory resonator normally will add a bunch of drone.

I have many options in stock LMK if I can help.

I have the Pypes X-bomb cat back. It sounds really good but does drone pretty bad between 50-60mph. I plan to change it later but just wanted something cheap for now so I could hear the car running.

Check out the AWE catback as well, cheaper than Borla but still great quality. I love the S type (axleback) though.

I run Stainless Works Legend with catless longtubes and it sounds amazing.

I agree with skinnyB. Before I added headers the S type catback sounded really good for just a catback. Everything he said was spot on.
I couldn’t agree more with you. Borla S-Type FTW.

I went with the Corsa Touring/Sport axel back with active valves. I also added the Corsa double H pipe. Adding the double H or double X turns it into the extreme exhaust. I absolutely love it. No drone, deeper idle/rumble, and bad ass when you get on it. Nothing but compliments.

on my 17 GT 5.0. I am running Corsa Extreme Cat back with a Corsa double H pipe, I am also set up with Texas Speed stainless long tube headers. The sound is definitely on the loud side, but thats what the extremes are meant to be, loud deep old school muscle sounding! Corsa makes great products, not cheap but fit and finish and sound is great. Absolutely no Drone and the car sounds awesome getting into the throttle, but cruising and idling is not bad at all, sounds really good. Cold Start up is louder than Corsa Sport and many others.

I feel AWE Touring is a great choice, also look into KRONA. Great sounding and quality, had it on my 15’. Search on YouTube and you may even come across my 15’.

This sounds interesting with Active valves but I don’t see it listed for my convertible?

Very interesting design! Do you run one of these? I haven’t seen any other system have 2 mufflers, one with no outlet?
That’s a Helmholtz chamber and cancels out the drone.
I’m not sure if the ARK exhaust will fit a convertible.

Corsa or AWE if you want drone free.
