What is the difference between one for a coupe or convertible?
The verts have extra bracing so the catbacks need to be designed to get around those.

It would be nice to keep the cost down, the MBRP systems look nice. You say it is kind of loud? Which system do you have, I see they offer ”Race” and “Street”?
I have the MBRP Race and it's loud even without longtubes. Couldn't imagine it with them. It also does drone slightly on the highway. But it's a deeper tone than others which I like.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Does anyone have experience with the X-Force Varex Cat back which has baffles operated by a key fob? Seems like a good idea, similar to the Active Exhaust offered by Ford.
That's the one I installed on my ecoboost about a month ago, but I didn't go for the downpipe yet. I always have the valve open when driving except on early morning startups and I haven't noticed any drone at high speeds. I have to say I was expecting more sound from it with the valve open, I find it quite mild still, but that might be because of the 4 cylinders I'm missing... :cwl: Jokes aside, I like the fact I can customise the sound of it by partially opening the valve, I think it will sound good on a V8 and it weights about half of the stock one if you care about that sort of stuff :like:

Thank you! That’s the first input I’ve gotten, would love to hear from someone who has it on the V-8.

No worries, here's a video I found with the sound on a V8. Hope it helps :like:

OP - I've been doing some research on the best exhaust. It'll depend on your ears. I think S-Type from Borla sounds the best. You could also try a H-pipe then see if you need more.

I totally agree! What’s too quiet to one is too loud too another. I am considering the Borla S type and the Ford Performance Touring, made by Borla. A salesman who wanted to sell me the Borla and didn’t have the Ford told me they are EXACTLY the same. I was suspicious and called Borla directly. The tech told me they are NOT the same, the Borla S is louder and the Ford product is specked by Ford for the baffles they wanted.

Maybe if it goes on sale for July 4th or something, I'll snag it for less. But I doubt it'll be much more than the current premium. But my god does it sound crisp online. I'll have to go to some car-shows this year to hear. H-pipe to begin though. Much cheaper. Lol

I ran the Varex axle back with an H-pipe. It was not overly loud but definitely louder than stock. I'd say it was a medium loud set up. Valves closed it is as quiet as stock which was nice for when i'd leave early in the morning. I ended up going a completely different route with my car so I have the Varex for sale.

Will it fit my Conertible?

In my opinion I would get a valved exhaust like valvetronic. That’s what I’ll be getting in the future. Loud or quiet at the push of a button. I’m just waiting for their quad tip universal muffler to release later this month.
