Best CAI & Tune?

How do you guys feel about the Steeda cai & tune?

I've been holding off for the Steeda tune and CAI without the restrictor. Waiting for new Dynotune numbers from them or from someone else with the their combo. As of now, the numbers they've posted aren't in line with their competition. I have no doubt however, they'll get there soon enough.

I've seen them online on various vendors websites. But nothing from someone who just owns the car and has actual evidence that the CAI made more power over the stock airbox. If someone has a video you're aware of that's not associated with a vendor that has before and after dyno's on the same day, then i'm all ears.

I have a bunch of dyno graphs from "vendors" as most are shops, we are not afraid of independent testing.

Still pretty skeptical. I guess the bigger question will have to be if it actually lowers IAT. There is a good amount of power found in the tune, that's for sure. But again, until I stumble across more information on these "cai's" I think I'll stick with the stock air box

Was this done with the hood open? When closed you're still pulling air through the same tube as the factory airbox. Maybe if that were opened up to fit the whole portion of the D/S small section of grill?

Still shows gains.

There was a member that is no longer here who showed his progression...but he deleted all his posts. Most real people aren't going to the dyno and doing stock pulls, then tune pulls, then tune and intake pulls. Vendors/manufacturers have that access...we don't.

It's more about flow than temp. Temp of the intake charge isn't going to get you that much power.

Colder air=denser air. You're still drawing air through the same small opening in the grill
Typically im seeing with the factory airbox my IAT is usually about 5-7º over ambient air

Have the Steeda cai and tune and love it. The cai quality is far above any other out there, and the larger air filter looks amazing. As for the tune, don't have official numbers but the butt Dyno definitely could feel the difference. I am very happy with both!

What I'm talking about is the intake tube to the throttle body being so much bigger. I know colder air is more dense, but the difference in power between temps is not nearly as high as increasing flowrate.

I feel like these questions come up weekly, there's ton's of information on this topic...the aged old "beating a dead horse."

Our system see similar ambient temps while moving, at rest they will increase faster then a sealed box but they will also drop faster once moving again. Our system can pickup air from more then just the air scoop as the box isn't 100% sealed. Our filter surface area is much larger then stock so it can allow more air in.

If we're comparing dollar per HP, our intake systems for the 2015 are $349, we generally expect 10-15whp gains over just a tune. Compare this to long tube headers(25-30whp) that typically cost $1200-1500+ and a much more difficult install. You don't see near the threads in defense of headers. LOL

How do you guys feel about the Steeda cai & tune?

I had the steeda ultimate induction package on my 13 v6 and i loved the intake, it was awesome. Thats were it stopped :/ i had the tune redone after advising them of the lack of throttle response and the car still feeling stock. and the tune felt the same. But they have awesome customer service. I want to tune with them this time and hope for better results but i dont know.
