I have learned to skip over threads with titles like this one; they very quickly become playgrounds for the keyboard jockeys who enjoy playing with themselves in public.

Got scared by trolls to trade in :)

I’ve said it before there are like 3-4 people who make tick threads almost everyday. “New reason for tick” and then they say something like if the car faces north during a full moon the car will begin to tick. Then of course that means the car is going to blow up in the next 50 miles and the owner has to trade it in, make a YouTube video, etc.
Stupid tick videos is the main reason I unsubbed from Stangmode, MichaelMack and several other attention seeking YT'er video makers last year...they all jump on a bandwagon that doesn't exist. My notion as to why coyote's tick? Owners are idiots, buy em and take em out and run the piss outta them, then change oil and don't even know to replace it with 10 qts! One or two guys do this then all their YT buddies see a video getting hits (makin' them money) then before you know it they are all making idiotic videos pointing out a "tick" which is really just standard DI pump and injector noises.... Wanna do good by your new coyote engine? Put 10 friggin' quarts of oil back in it if you change the oil! At this point, I'll recommend what real mechanics suggest for oil...5W 40 or 50...I use Rotella T6 full syn. 5W40 along with 2 bottles of Ceratec. No noise other than the usual DI sounds and mine is a Feb 20th 2018 built engine (one of the earlier ones which if you listen to these idiot YT video makers are all junk straight from the factory). Rant over...

LOL, you really should read up on what that means. The simple fact is that you are what you keep calling other people. For the record, I still don't see your opinion yet on the purpose of this thread. So maybe your not exercising and your are in recovery?

1mean18,

Could not have said it better. I bought my 18 for shear enjoyment, and on that it delivers.

What I get a kick out of on these forums is how some members talk to other members you think their name is Ford

I understand no car is perfect and that bad things can happen to certain cars. But what I have read here about the Coyote just seems too far fetched to me. And hopefully it is. But I have been creeping the Forum for perhaps a year while I still had my Camaro SS and had myself convinced I would never buy the Mustang based on the concerns raised even though I loved the look and sound of them. But I went and had a look and a couple of test drives and absolutely loved the car top to bottom. And that sound! OMG. So I said eff it I'm buying it and I'm going to enjoy it! And I am:) Said goodbye to the Camaro & no tears were shed but perhaps I'm just a cold hearted Ba$tard......

I did the opposite. I knew I was about to buy my A10 '18 GT so I maximized my day and drove to the Chevy dealer next to where I bought my Mustang. Told em I was considering a Camaro SS (I drove in, in my '17 FoST E30 tuned) and told em I'd let that slow turd go for a different ride altogether...in about 10 minutes I had the keys to a '18 SS stick. Pulling out I stalled it, hated the clutch instantly. (Yeah a Focus ST is stick, and is my daily). Still stalled the SS with that heavier clutch. LOL. Out on the highway I wasn't impressed. C pillar big enough to literally hide a bus in on a 4 lane. Felt like I was riding in a tank, way down low, tiny windows, couldn't see out of it worth a damn compared to any of my modern Fords. Got on it and ran it thru a 2nd to 4th gear pull, and it seemed kinda slow (and my daily then was a tuned Focus ST). Definitely seemed sluggish compared to my A10 GT with 3.55's I knew I was picking up the next day. I did it only because I could do it. So glad I did, confirmed what I read online that tall people feel very confined in the Camaro, and now I can say I actually drove the competition instead of just parroting all the stuff you read from other people about how the car is difficult to see out of....and don't get me started on how goofy looking that center console and vents looked in it...the only thing I thought was superior to my Mustang was its steering wheel. That's about it. Never looked back. I won't bother going to test a '19 for fun...those things are so ugly I wouldn't wanna get caught or seen in one by one of my Ford friends!

I traded in a 2013 5th Gen I've never driven a 6th Gen. It was a bunker too though I didn't mind it really. Certainly the outward view in the GT is a whole lot better. But I'm a car guy not a brand guy really so its not like I was Chevy or die or anything. This GT seems lighter on torque in the low RPM range than the 6.2 was so far but I think the car is half full of crap gas and the other half premium so I'm waiting to put a full tank of 94 in it like the Camaro got and see how it compares then. i'm sure it had cheap dealer gas on the test drive. Its funny I'm not a tall guy at about 5'6" but even my head was close to the headliner in the SS so I can't imagine what its like for a tall person LOL.

I'm 6'5" 225 lbs. it was a miserable drive for me. Hopefully you get some good Sunoco 94 soon. Or, buy a can of Torco and add it to your suspected crappy gas to bump your octane up a few points. If you ever wanna go the tuning route, try E85. Mine gained 30 whp on the dyno after the tune and JLT cai. Another 35 with the Pype's stepped catless lt's. Torque rose almost 30. These A10 cars are easily running flat or low 11's with that, a good drag radial and a few suspension mods....and a little practice with a foot braked launch. The SS I drove, a stick car, didn't feel nearly as quick to me, despite the better torque down low. As far as brand loyalty, I grew up in a Chevrolet/Olds family, and although I respect the push rod small block design, its pretty outdated and power per cube Ford wins that game hands down now-adays with the higher flowing heads and multi cams. The engines definitely feel and make power in very different ways. I'll give the '18 SS another compliment I forgot to mention earlier, they do rumble nicely and sound great, especially down low around town.

I can see why it felt small in there. I'm surprised a shoe horn wasn't needed to get you back out :) There isn't much corn fuel up here I think its maybe E15 max (or is that E85 in reality?) though I'm not sure. I'm not planning to mod this car in part because there are no good shops around here & I'm happy with the car as it comes. While its true on the power per cubic inches the LT1 is a bit lighter and more compact than the Coyote as the overhead Cam's etc. do add some weight to the motor. And raise the car's CG some no doubt. Don't get me wrong I'm sure this car is damned fast and would beat my old auto SS when it got nasty I'm just talking about the feel of the pull when tooling around. But I am making an early judgement that may not reflect the true comparison once things loosen up & I can give it a bit of Hell!

Yeah, the pull feel you got used to down low, isn't in our Gen 3's, this beast come's alive about when that LT1 starts to weez for air. My E85 tune is set up to command shift in D at 7700 rpms! From 1st gear to 7th (the 1:1 gear) with the 3.55's she traps at 123 or 124 at 11.3 to 11.15 thru a 1/4. She's been at the track twice, both nights I had good DA, mid to high 70's and lower humidity, the first night out the car was bone stock with about 800 miles on the clock, and as everyone knows, hop and spin on 255 Pirelli P Zero's was horrible!!! On the E85 the A10 is still holding 6th and crosses the line at 7k rpms. I went from 2 flat 60 fts to a 1.7 flat. When this amazing A10 shifts it shifts hard! (I let it do all the work, I don't mess with my paddle shifters or using Sport mode because there is no way on this Earth I can shift it that fast as quickly as these engines rev on E85). So its almost impossible to compare how these cars feel, or their perception of speed, my Mustang seems much scarier and more violent with that A10 banging away at gears and only dropping roughly 1k rpms when it does so at 7700! Yet alone the sound...
