Hey all!

Put on the shorty BBK headers over the weekend with a friend. I hope not to discourage anyone from DIY but this was my experience...

Removal of the stock headers is cake, took under an hour. Just remember to be patient as some of the nuts might be a little hard to remove. Its really that simple to unbolt.

Now to BBK. Like members have mentioned before, the drivers side is far easier then the passenger side. I used every expletive in my vocabulary trying to do this side. We had to loosen up the alternator to reach some of the studs that the BBK header pipes wrap around, while holding up the exhaust. Not much room at all for anything down here. This one side took the majority of the time, about 3 hours as you are restricted to turning the ratchet 1/4 inch at a time while under the car and when above the engine bay.

Overall I'd rate this a 8/10 as far as difficulty & considering the amount of time it took. But all worth it. The headers woke the car up for sure, working with my Roush CAI - GT Exhaust, I can feel a significant improvement 2nd-3rd, compared to the stock headers which seemed to hold the car back a bit on hard acceleration. Highly recommending the mod, you will be impressed with the look and feel!

Happy Modding y'all!

Good shit MadMB, just remember after 500 to 1000 miles to retighten the bolts as I find they loosen and you start to bog a little. I actually just tightened mine yesterday after driving all winter and to my surprise most of them needed a little spin, could even feel the difference after. BUT this could be because the BBK gasket I accidentally used sucks dick lol and I have to keep them tight at all times.

It's the subpar crush gaskets causing that issue. The OE MLS gaskets stay solid (notice how you never need to tighten the stock manifolds). After a few heat cycles those bolts should not go anywhere if tightened properly. There's no comparison between the stocker MLS and crush gaskets.

Which is why thanks to you finding me those oem gaskets I'm ordering them today and throwing then in. I'd very much like to stop tightening lol. Thanks again bro

Ok I got my speed daddy headers on today they sound about the same as stock when Idling I do have GT cat back and a Roush intake .now the good part when I get on the gas it sounds so good I also think it pulls a little harder . & my wife even likes how it sounds if anyone else is getting these I would take you time with the installation . they are worth the time and effort

Nice! Yep it's a subtle difference that would be hard for your average mic to pick it up. Like the GT exhaust, it's something better experienced in person.
