...Canadians are only allowed to stay in the U.S. for 6 months every calendar year.
Here's the solution to that problem:

1. Next time you are in the USA, enter Mexico from TX, AZ, NM, or CA. Commiefornia would be your best bet. :giggle:

2. While in Mexico, throw all of your identification in the trash. ALL of it. :crying:

3. Find a nice little outta-the-way place to cross the Rio Grande heading north back into the USA.

4. While doing so, wear something really, really bright colored so the US Border Patrol can find you quite easily. :like:

5. Tell the US Border Patrol agents your name is Enrique Gonzales Guadalupe Robles, that you are from El Salvador (you have no I.D., so how would they disprove your claim) and you are seeking "Asylum". Wink, wink.

6. Three weeks later, give or take, you will be set free somewhere within the USA with a promise on your behalf to show up for your "Asylum" (wink, wink) hearing. :lipssealed:

7. You will NOT show up for your "Asylum" (wink, wink) hearing. No one will ever come looking for you, because collectively, Americans do not possess the moral courage to prevent their own country from being slowly invaded. But, but, but, if someone ever does find you and tries to send you to El Salvador, just find a news camera somewhere and bemoan the USA as being "inherently racist" and they will let you go once again. :curse: Effectively, this plan will allow you to stay in the USA for the rest of your life.

Problem solved... :like:

I always thought that the hood latch was mechanical, not electrical?
Maybe I'm wrong on this. :frown:

Hood latch is mechanical.
But the hood latch handle is inside the car. So you have to open the drivers door first. Which requires to drop down window glass for a bit. For this you need electricity, I suppose.

Correct, we covered that in previous posts though.

FYI there is a emergency key inside the remote, and an emergency key slot under the cover of the door handle (pop out the bottom plastic cover)

The glass does not have to move to open the door. The window jog is to help seal the glass when the door is closed. It does not affect the actual opening of the door, and as PMR said above^^^ the spare key will unlock the door.

The slight drop in the window is not necessary for the door to open/close, but aids in proper sealing.

The bigger annoyance is that without a battery the trunk is locked (unless it's a convertible).
It's not necessary but it's nice to not have to move the door harder than normal to bend the windows when opening or closing.
