Default at every start-up:
- Traction Control On
- Stability Control On

Single tap: "Traction Control Off"
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control On

Double Tap: "AdvancTrac Sport Mode"
- Traction Control Reduced
- Stability Control Reduced

Press & Hold: "AdvancTrac Off" (e.g. Track Mode)
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control Off

AdvancTrac helps to maintain control of your vehicle on slippery surfaces using Traction Control and Stability Control by applying brakes to individual wheels and reducing engine power.

Traction control helps to avoid drive wheel spin and loss of traction.

Stability control helps avoid skids and lateral slides.

On a Base Mustang, this is all completely independent of the steering setting.
These modes all work on the base EB except the double tap. It just turns the traction off and back on no matter how fast I push it. Couldn't really tell if turning it all the way off changes any of the shift points on the short drive I was on. That's what I'd really like- higher shift points in 4,5,6th gears.

Back to ops question:
Maybe get an F150 4x4 with Whipple or SBD turbo and Hakepilitas or Studdable WinterForce or Blizzaks.
If it has to be a Stang for max rear end tossage:
Maybe used 2015 premium GT and Whipple or SBD. 30+10=40k.
If you can afford new 2016 pimped out to 42k+, go for it!
Just keep in mind these depreciate 10k first year and you wanna drive it in snow and muddy snow conditions like a pro.
Just some outta the box thoughts.

What lol? Where are you getting this?

To the OP, go premium. So much better materials and extras that make you feel like you are actually in a 30k car.

Op, go with base and avoid the leather seats. Resale will be better too. Dont forget the perfpack. Another option to hold the value. Good luck.

when I was shopping cars, I would see 2014 GT Premium sitting in the used car lot priced at 29k, 10k miles. And then I walked over to new car lot, and saw brand new 2016 GT with IRS for ?

Ironically, I have a premium but part of me wonders if I should've got the base. Not a money thing, but I worry that the navigation, big screen, heated seats, bells and whistles make the car too luxurious and whether it detracts from it being a muscle car. It's funny, I basically shift and steer and haven't even figured out the navigation or anything.

car buying is lots of should've . But if you hold the car for 5 years or more, it doesn't make that much difference. the leather seats seem cleaner than cloth, but I don't know if they are an improvement over vinyl. Of what Benz sells as MB-Tex :

MB-Tex vs. Leather upholstery
MB-Tex is generally easier to clean and maintain than leather

I would like the bigger display for the backup camera. And it looks "cool"

Ford should sell the ACC / FCW and BLIS as base options. Adding those on top of Premium really balloons the price of the vehicle.

It's all in what you want and can afford. I love the remote start, touch lock/unlock handles, leather seats, voice command, big screen, etc. I expect this in a car. These creature comforts are a must. I love traveling and pushing a button "find nearest Mexican restaurant" Boom there they are. Push route and the wife and I are on the way to chips, salsa, and margaritas.

Invest a little time and you will be amazed what shit this car can do.

I would have preferred my Mustang more like the F150 XL. V8, vinyl seats, vinyl flooring, manual everything. $25k.

I just made that number up, but I bet its doable.

It's best if my car doesn't NAV me to the margaritas

There's a thread I was reading in here specifically on people's experience of the leather seats. The VAST majority of people with leather were complaining about them...well...that's a strong word. More like reporting damage. And that was only after the first year!

On the other side of the coin, those with the cloth seats were raving about them and saying how well they held up.

The only real exception was those with the Premier leather. That seemed to be doing well.

So while yes, the leather is definitely easier to wipe/clean, I intend to keep snacks/uncovered drinks/pets out of the car anyway so unless I have a terminal case of swamp ass, I'm not seeing a huge need for cleaning the seats.

Personally, if I can find one with Premier leather, great!! Then I'd pull the trigger and get the bells/whistles along with it. If not, cloth is certainly fine by me!

In the past I had cars with cloth and leather seats. Generally I treat the leather
annually and have never had an issue with leather. Are you talking about a Premium package with leather? Premium leather?

Not the "Premier"...R on the end there....leather. That's the $400 upgrade that people seem happy with. But those that ordered the standard Ford factory leather seem to be the ones complaining about bolsters, sagging/stretching, general wear, etc.

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31867&highlight=premier

A few did share wear on the cloth seats, one guy named Ivan even showed pics, but I got the impression that far more were experiencing wear/damage with the leather than the cloth. Not the only thread, just one of the ones focusing on it.

Hey kz

"Track Mode" (AdvanceTrac Off) on the base GT has stability control completely turned off.
I know - that's why it isn't direct counterpart of Premium track mode (which is the one I was talking about). It just turns off stability control - which on Premium you holding traction control button for 7 secs as well. Track mode on Premium is not equivalent to track mode on Base which seems to be theory in this thread that people are trying to prove really hard. Not even close. Whether that's something somebody needs - their own decision. I drive in Track mode almost exclusively due to throttle mapping and there's still some stability control left which I see no reason to turn off on my way to work...
I have a base GT/PP....
It seems to me that in the base model all we can do is shut off traction or both traction/stability and there is no change to throttle mapping or am I wrong ??? and is throttle mapping only a premium function..??

I went back and forth between premium and base. Both with pp. I went with the base. Only good thing in premium for me would have been bigger screen and ability to get nav and the home link button. Everything else is just gimmicky stuff that I have zero need for.
Once aftermarket nav units are available for double din that will take care of that.
If it was a daily or something I'd maybe have gone with premium but I have another more luxurious car for that.
