Thanks that spot came to mind, but am considering getting a spare actually. Was wondering if there were any nifty spots behind any of the inner trim panels. Probably wishful thinking.

What line out converter is best best adding the sub? I already have an amp and sub in a different vehicle that I want to transfer

If you're just adding an amp and sub it won't matter very much which LOC you go with. I went with a Rockford Fosgate for like $20 and it's been great.

Some people have gone a step further and installed a JBL MS-8 to power their stock speakers and amps. Those that have installed seem to love them. They apparently clean up the audio quite a bit and make everything pretty crisp. The last time I checked they were about $500. So if money isn't an object then you could look into those.

MS-8 is a great unit, but unfortunately no longer made. You can sometimes find refurb units on sale at JBL, or keep an eye out at DIYMA.com classifieds... they pop up occasionally but they go fast!

powered sub

hello all,
reading everyone thoughts about adding a subwoofer but has anyone considered using a powered bazooka tube?

Bazooka tube? They still make those? When I remember those, they were only good for rap. Very muddy. Check out zenclosures.com. They make custom fit boxes that are great. I just got one.

OK, doing this today. OMG now I know why I pay other more skilled people to this for me now. What a pain getting the wire through the grommet in the firewall! And somehow I lost a fender liner clip. Disappeared into the abyss on a white concrete driveway! Now I'm trying to figure out exactly where to tap in the rear speakers. At the speakers themselves? Or did you all peel the wrap and use the wire harness below the rear deck?

UPDATE: I give up. Took all day and didn't work. I wasted a whole weekend day off. Now I have to take it to a shop anyway. Can't find my good voltmeter to troubleshoot. Found my HobbyKing one and it reads 0 volts at the battery so that's not going to help. Completely exasperated....

They can be... if you don't have the opportunity to listen to any before you purchase, check ratings on Amazon to at least get an idea of what others like.

Wiring an amp is no harder. The only extra connections to make are the speaker connections, and that's easier than making soup in the microwave. Get what you want, but I like my zenclosures that looks like a local shop did it... I still haven't reinstalled mine since the accident in July and afterwards visits to the dealer to get my vibration (present before the accident) fixed. Ready to reinstall it now with the Audio Control LOC now. I expect much better bass output.

There are some good ones out there, especially from Rockford Fosgate. I've never had a problem with them. I don't like booming, window shaking bass, I add subwoofers just round out stock systems and give them a low end. If you're not looking to blow windows out, should be good and it saves you some time and $.
