JWS,
Can you describe where in the photos where the problem(s) are and what they should look like?

That sounds like you found an error state within the operating system, I would definitely try to escalate this to your dealer so they can request a formal patch for all drivers.

Alignment

Had trouble uploading more than one photo from my MAC using Outlook. Will try and get some uploaded on Saturday.

Seeing as how the tail light photo was the only one to load, I'll stick with this for the moment.

No.7 shows what the designers had in mind on the clay model in the lower photo. On the LE you can see how the trunk lid at No.3 has a cutout to clear the housing. It almost looks like they tried to copy the top part of the trunk lid from a late 60s Mustang. However it doesn't work because No.1 & No.2 have a lip which is lower than No. 3 (Not as pronounced in this photo, because the trunk lid deck is sticking up above the quarter panel. Some have tried to adjust this down, so No. 1 & No.3 match, but then the lid is lower than the quarter panel. No.2 is the corner with excess metal that interferes with the housing. It's different on the left and right sides. I've tried to bump No.1 & No.2 up and into the recess, to so that No.1 & No.2 match No.3, which is starting to work, but it won't match the straight-across of the clay model. Even if the top lines match, the plastic at No's.4, 5, &6 cannot all be aligned, especially at the top. You can get most of them, but not all. This is due to the Trunk Stamping, the Plastic Mold design and the Quarter Panel Stamping and welding of the panels. The left panel is so far out, that the back glass sits lower on the left, than the right, up by the roof. The trunk lid corner near the glass, also has alignment problems due to the quarter panel. Had to pound the corner of the trunk lid down to match the profile of the quarter. Also, if you tighten up the gaps near the glass, the corners are sticking out and the creases no longer match. To match the creases, you pull the trunk lid aft, but then it sticks out beyond the quarters. I tried lining up the trunk first, then the lights and panel. Close, but will never be perfect because of design flaws.

JWS,
Looks like you inadvertanty posted you Alignment posts in "Stereo system" titled thread. You will get much better visibility if you start a new thread directly under "Issue, Repairs..."

Not sure if it would be easier to cut/paste your post here into a new thread, or Maybe a moderator could help or say which is best.

Especially before you invest more involved posts of this alignment issue in this stereo thread.
Thanks for the documentation and showing us to look out for on our up coming orders.

Husker's LE

Husker's LE has the problems that most have. If you line up the plastic, the trunk won't align, and vice-sersa.

You are correct. Too many threads, too little time! Not enough brain cells to compensate!

Well i just started having this same issue, lets try and keep this thread related to the base gt radio issues.
Althought I too have trunk alignment issues its only gonna complicate things.

Any way radio does not work after parking at a friends house for about an hour. The screen is blacked out as if its shut off, still displays phone data, and time. Just all buttons to the radio are not working, and no audio is coming from prompts.

Really getting on my nerves

Base radio here... On my way to work, my radio worked just fine. After finishing my 12 hour shift, my radio would not turn on. It only displayed the date and time and the interface would only allow me to change the time and nothing else. The voice command system and phone system no longer worked either. I turned the car off and on several times to no avail when this happened. After waiting 15 minutes and trying again, all worked fine. I was too lazy to pull the battery to troubleshoot and disappointed in even having to consider such a thought.

Hey Ivan,

Are you still waiting on the parts for your breaks? If so, I'll update your case notes with these details, so you can address the issue when you go back. Send over a PM; I'll check out the situation to see how to best proceed.

This morning my base radio was not working. Mustang startup logo, reverse cam, time, phone connect all display fine over a black screen. Radio power, cd, radio, media buttons all do not do anything as well as Sync not responsive.

Either way I'll be stopping by the dealer. I am just wondering if anyone has found a resolution or has had this occur on multiple occasions?

My BASE radio stopped working last night. I turned the car off and on a few times to no avail. After it being parked for an hour it worked fine. Was working this morning too. Not cool to have a three week old car with barely 1000 miles on it to have a basic CD stereo go out.

My radio has stopped working a few times already as well, even all my steering wheel controls have stopped working at other times. I have owned many fords over the years, this one has the most issues by far.

Wow...I also had the same issue twice now, and I'm just under 6000 miles :headbonk:.

If you are still having the issue here is an easy fix. Grab any audio CD put it in the CD player, let it play for about 20 seconds or so, then eject it and repeat the process again. By now you should be able to use the radio, phone and media buttons. If still not working repeat the process a couple more times. I hope that works for you. Good luck!
