I wanted to share my discovery that Sun State Ford in Orlando, Florida has ordered 3, yes three Base package GT350R's and they have all been produced and are awaiting shipment at this time!

Interestingly enough, they are consecutive VIN's also, so this may be a rare opportunity for a collector to have that also if they buy more than one.

Colors available are White/blue OTT, Kona/White OTT, and Lead Foot/Black OTT.

I did call on the Kona and they confirmed that it was still available.. I am not sure about the others but I'm guessing that there is a good chance they are.

Good Luck!

^^Nice! Someone go buy all three... ;-)

Saw this over the weekend.... a base-R in Lightning Blue sold at BJPB this past Saturday for 67K hammer-price plus a 10% buyer's fee... low miles but still over msrp even for a pre-owned unit.

20k is way too much. Even if I was the guy who had to have it, 10k tops. The base R I helped a member with was much lower than that.

The Kona one is HR316. Not sure if the others got consecutive chassis numbers to go with the consecutive VINs.

Yeah they're probably hoping someone would settle at 10k over give or take so then the dealer will sell and still make big profit....

As of about 10 days ago and shortly after the Kona Blue and Magnetic cars were built Ford put a hold on these 3 base cars and told the GM at Sun State Ford that the only way they could have 3 R models was to order them with the Electronics Package.

As of last Thursday the dealership convinced Ford to release only 1 of the 3 cars with that being the Kona Blue car and no word on the other two cars.

Why Ford decided to not release these base cars just after they were built is hard to say but they had some sort of reason which was not explained to the dealership?

Not sure where the ADM is presently but it was $20K over MSRP 10 days ago based on an Electronics Package car.

Wow, good info! I thought that perhaps they had 3 allocations for the year and wanted Base cars for all 3, and they only way they could do it was to have them produced before the cutoff (March 2018).

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I'm sure you'll be able to negotiate them down from $20K, but you never know.. I'm sure they are aware that no more base cars will be made in the future (at least not exactly like this).

It is a shame that they didn't put the two oil gauges on the base models.

This dealership was actually offered 4 R's in recent months but they only decided to take 3 allocations and ordered them all as base R's.

Anyone interested in the Kona Blue car I would suggest that a $10K ADM could be had very easily and if push came to shove I am thinking that $7,500 might even be viable.

;)

Having the white and blue next to each other in the same garage would be next level awesome.
