I need a shop in Orlando

Can anyone recommend a trusted shop in Orlando or in the vicinity that can install a MGW shifter.

Throw it up on jack stands and bang it out. There is a good install video out there. Another option is drive it over to MGW and let them do it.

I've watched the MGW install video. Doesn't look hard, just tedious. I called MGW but due to insurance reasons, they no longer do installs. LaMatta Performance in Longwood charges $200 to do the install. It would take me all day for something that will take them 2 hours.

did you go to Daytona over the weekend? I was in San Diego and Vegas for the past two weeks. Got to visit the Carroll Shelby shop. Pretty cool stuff.

Fromt he MGW video the transmission bracket needs to be removed then the transmission lowers on a jack a little. The brace needs to be traced before unbolting it so the brace goes back exactly where Ford installed it. I don't think it's too hard on a lift. Jack stands a little harder and tedious.

Sheesh, for 200 smacks, I'd do that.... but I turn my own wrenches.

For $200 I wouldn't even jack up the car. That is one hell of a price. Maybe they thought it was a shift knob install.

Thank you for the recommendation to go to Lamatta Performance!! Dalton installed installed the MGW shifter and was awesome!!! Took a little 2 hours.

Highly recommend Lamatta if you're in the Central Florida area.

Glad you used them. My installer of choice as you know. Dalton is a great guy.

He and some of his friends came to visit us at Daytona while we were tracking. I think he learned some things about these cars while we were tracking.
