So i recently purchased a 2021 Mustang GT, it is a 300A package so it is base model. it is a used and salvage vehicle so vehicle history is not 100 percent clear,

so to get to the point it has a 8" infotainment screen already installed, i fixed drive modes and emergency lights with forscan and the are working perfectly fine. But....

i noticed the sync version is 3.0 Build 17276. gracenote version 1.1.1.1139(na-0010) and serial number wwak7bdf

also this unit has working navigation and haven't really had any problems except for fordpass not connecting

I'm pretty sure these newer vehicles come with sync 3.3 or 3.4

I've seen a couple youtube videos on how to update to 3.4 with cyan labs but saw there some warnings about the car or unit being manufactured in 2020 or newer
and i just need some help on what i can or should do in my case, as i don't want to brick the unit, and to be honest i kind of prefer the ui in the 3.0 version, but i don't want to have any issues or bugs that are fixed with the newer versions, also considering the fact that this vehicle was not supposed to be using a version of sync that is that old.

Also i don't really want to take apart my head unit to see the inside sticker to se manufacture date. also the wifi updates dont work.

If the fordpass isnt connecting, has the modem been disabled (fuse pulled or wires disconnected)?

I'd say fordpass / integrated 4G modem has been disabled as well. I pulled my fuse and the plugs in the trunk just need to unplug Sirius antenna.

Sync should update over any wifi, or at least mine did.

A lot of good stuff in here.

Also, if I recall correctly current FordPass (with the modem 2019+) is tied to your VIN so getting it to connect may not be possible.

Try contacting a company like https://infotainment.com/ or https://www.4dtech.com/ and see if they can help. They sell conversion kits to do exactly what you have done. Most likely your unit just needs reprogrammed to match the vin of your car.

I wouldn’t know, I may not have explained correctly but the screen aldready came installed in the car, so I don’t know where it came from, as far as fuses u wasn’t aware there were fuses for that

Consider a dynavin head unit then you have a good base for speaker upgrade....also eliminated all the Ford stalkerware and spyware. Also still have the black box.
