C'mon guys . . . When discussing fuel economy, the biggest factor is your right foot. Other than that, let us know which engine you have, manual or automatic, any mods, and what rear end. All of these will impact your mpg!

Pardon my ignorance, but what in blazes is a shift indicator? Other than my ears and the tach, there is nothing anywhere on my car (that i know of, anyway) that tells me when to shift, or even what gear I am in. Not that I'd need it . . .

Frankly, my GT (base, manual, 3.55) doesn't "feel" fast either. I actually love that, but I do have to be careful. I was behind a car doing 55 in the fast lane who wouldn't move over. I moved over & touched the gas to pass, and I was doing 90!
