Barton 25% Short Shifter Install and Review

From the install pics, it looks like there is part of the exhaust in the way when you're removing the shifter body. If I'm putting a cat-back system on, would that make it a little easier to install the shifter at the same time?

It does give you more room, but you have to support the transmission because the exhaust is not holding it up anymore. #AskMeHowIKnow

I just saved his video to my laptop, the install video Barton made is pretty spot on. His shifter does ship with the insert on the ball so you don't have to take the old one off. I did mine a while ago so I don't know if he has edited the video.

Does the Barton shifter fully mount off the transmission or dies it still use a bracket that supports the back of it that is bolted to the floor?

I can't imagine any shifter being truly good that isn't 100% mounted to the tranny.

Mounts the same way but without all the floppy-ness. 1000% improvement. The issue isn't that it mounts to the trans and body, the issue is the factory one is too isolated and moves around too much to work good.

Yes, it's mounted to the top of the transmission, transmission tunnel.
