First off... Credit to Brent302 for finding these links on americanmusle.com!

Looks like BAMA has tunes ready for the Ecoboost 15. States dyno tested gains of 20RWHP and 75+RWTQ! That would put the ecoboost at 330hp and 395ft-lbs.... Damn that 395ft-lbs is very tempting.... Just when I thought I had my mind made up... :frusty:

Yup, seems like it's going to be an awesome tune.

I'll see what other vendors have to offer and probably do some tune, CAI and exhaust after 5-10k miles.

If I can get the EB to 340+ hp and 400+ lb tq and still have spent a few thousand less than the GT I'll be a happy camper.

Wouldn't it actually have more than 330hp, since the added 20hp is at the wheels vs flywheel?

I'm not sure if those are gains are specific to the 2015 Mustang though. It would be all over the SCT website if the ECU was already cracked and there is no mention. I think that the quoted numbers are typical of OTHER 4 cylinder ecoboosts they have already tuned.

From what I have seen, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, BAMA has not tuned any Ford Ecoboost's in the past. BAMA mostly sticks to mustang if I'm not mistaken. I think the "15 Ecoboosts" in the description is indeed referring to the mustang. On top of all of this the gains they advertise I think fit what we could expect from the Ecoboost. Small HP increase but massive gains in TQ.

Yeah I think you're right they've been with AM and only tune Mustangs. Any EB gains are actual Mustang EB gains.

A tune? Imagine hooking up a gameboy like device to a port under your steering wheel.

You play with the keys a bit (makes you switch between accessories on, off , etc) for a few minutes. It downloads and installs the tune into your car. And your done ! .

A "can" tune is one that's premade for your car. When you buy the tuner the tunes you selected (87 street, 91 93 race, etc) are already on it. You just plug and play !

For BAMA you go to a page and specify your vehicle characteristics (engine, trans, tires, mods , etc).

I believe you also get free tunes for life so if you get a new mod or something isn't working right just call them up!

Oh and mods work best when incorporated with a tune .

How to: Load Custom Tunes from an American Muscle…:

The 2015 tuner will be nicer with a larger screen but you get the idea.

I'm a noob as far as modifications, but I'm assuming that a tune will void your warranty, right? I heard the ECU keeps tabs if it has been modified even if you return the stock tune.

No. Unless the tune directly caused or it can be shown than the tune likely caused the failure. Then the repair on that particular item is at your expense.

Example.... Piston cracked, head gasket failed or similar from high boost detonation or lean burn after a tune. Probably tune related and on your dime to fix.

Water pump leaking? I couldn't with clear conscience tie that to a bad tune.

Call me skeptical

Ummm,
Not to sound tooo skeptical, but,
How can they quote gains on a car they don't even have yet?

Personally I'd be looking for a place that has experience tuning EB engines,
like Livernois or Cobb.
I have a Livernois tune in my 2010 SHO. It's fantastic!
And they have yet to have a tune related engine failure!
