That's not exactly true. For the 2017 model the ONLY F150 getting the 10 speed auto are the trucks with the 3.5 Ecoboost. 2.7 and 5.0 still will run the 6R80. This points to a lower volume manufacturing capacity of the 10R80 till they phase out the 6R80 completely, which would coincide with...
The people to talk to are the guys at D&D performance. They have direct lines to Tremec and know as much about their transmissions as anyone out there. They can also help you do a custom swap kit for whatever you choose.
Torque specs can be misleading. You have to look at the weight of the vehicle AND the torque spec. Terence is likely rating the 6070 with a vehicle weight much higher than either the vette or the mustang.
Not a good idea with only a 3.73 gear. Look at the 1st gear ratio, it's only 2.29. It will be a dog out of the hole, FI or no FI. Going from the mt82 1st gear ratio of 3.66 you'd have an effective ratio going from 13.66 down to 8.5. It would be it would be worse than launching your car as it...
Gearset B is the same as a viper spec t56 or newer gt500's plus the 0.42 7th gear. You would realistically need at a minimum a 4.56 gear to be able to make any use of that 7th gear. I had a viper spec t56 in my car for a while. With a 27" tire and a 4.30 gear I would run 1870rpm @70mph in 6th...
Funny I picked UP, power in every vehicle I have run E85 in. My 05 mustang when it was a bolt on car picked up 10hp and 15ftlb and ran on a 100% at I fuel system except for 39lb injectors. I ran like this for about 30,000 miles never once switching back to e10 gas. No black gunk buildup or any...
Tons of misinformation here. E85 gets a bad rap as a "dirty" or gunky" fuel and it is anything but that. Ethanol is a great cleaner of your fuel system. This is where it CAN become and issue for cars with some miles on them. Any solids that have built up in the fuel tank from gasoline will be...
E10 is slightly more knock resistant than ethanol free gas. There is a small mileage penalty with E10 due to the lower energy content of the ethanol. E10 will have zero negative long term effects on your vehicle. ALL fuel system components are ethanol compatible and the ethanol will actually...
It really all comes down to dealing with the harmonics inherit to the FPC design. The Ford modular engine line has always been a zero balance engine and have always been an exceptionally smooth running engine, contributing very low NVH. Now the 6.8 v10 did feature a balance shaft due to being a...
The S197chassis (DEW lite which later became the D2C) based on a modified Lincoln LS platform (DEW98) but was removed of content and became the DC2 platform the center section of the chassis and the fuel tank design was carried over and the front and rear suspensions were replaced.
Fast...
I just sat in one today and found myself moving the seat UP!!! I'm 6'4. I'm pretty even torso vs legs and had enough headroom that a helmet would fit fine without leaning the seat back a ton too!
You don't have to do this with the coolant fed turbos that the ecoboosts have. The coolant keeps flowing after the engine goes off naturally (the heat that transfers into the coolant from the hot turbo causes flow all by itself) and it prevents any oil from cooking and coming up turbo bearings)...
You could hear how sticky the starting line was as the car rolled up to the staging lights. Didn't look like there as very much wheel spin. Good et for the mph. They could have let up before the mph beam at the end of the track too meaning a lower than actual trap speed.
This is all about an emissions point of view and nothing g about hitting power output or fuel economy numbers. I don't think we will NEED turbos, but you guys can't tell me you wouldn't be all over a direct injected twin turbo 5.0???
I'm not sure if those are gains are specific to the 2015 Mustang though. It would be all over the SCT website if the ECU was already cracked and there is no mention. I think that the quoted numbers are typical of OTHER 4 cylinder ecoboosts they have already tuned.
Think about this for a minute. This EB 4 banger is dynoing slightly higher peak horsepower wise than the 3v 4.6 stock as well as better peak torque. Forget comparing torque curves between the two.
