I attended a track day at the Ridge in Shelton, WA last Saturday and after every session my backup camera would't work. Then it would work after the car cooled down (backup lines and all). I have a MGW shifter, long tube headers, cat delete, professional tune, JLT CAI. Has anyone experienced this?

Yup, but mines was not even cause of tracking the car. I had it occur maybe on two different occasions when I was driving into downtown Chicago on a hot summer's day. Whenever I would put the car into reverse the camera would not turn on. I wonder if the reverse light also would not turn on also?

Same here after a long and vigorous run on some mountain twisties. Good to know I'm not alone. Never checked after coming off track, but don't ever go into reverse then either.

Too funny, same thing happened to me at the same track last year. I attributed it to heat because it worked fine later.

Anybody figure out what's making this happen? This has happened to me a few times after driving 45+min. If it's a heat issue where is the heat coming from and is there some way to shield whatever is overheating and not allowing the camera to function properly?

I lost camera on a hot Houston day a couple weeks ago. It showed DTC C1001 when I plugged up to check. Here is what I found online regarding that DTC. Not sure it this will help or not but at least you know what wiring harness area to check and that this is a fairly common issue.

2015-2016 Mustang – Inoperative Park Aid Camera, Luggage Compartment Lamp, Deck Lid Release And/Or Poor Satellite Radio Reception

Some 2015 and 2016 Mustangs may experience an inoperative Rear Parking Aid Camera, luggage compartment lamp, deck lid release and/or poor satellite radio reception.

Check the 14A005 wire harness at the right deck lid hinge for damage between the package tray harness retaining clip and the deck lid harness retainer clip.

Repair the harness following repair guidelines from section 5-1 of the wiring diagram.

If equipped with deck lid mounted satellite antenna, make sure the shielding is wrapped on the antenna wires securely after any repair.

Secure the harness ensuring it rolls downward into the trunk area when closing the deck lid and does not become trapped between the deck lid and the deck lid opening flange.

This concern may be accompanied by Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) B115E, C1001,and B1A89.

I lost my cam yesterday, been having trunk release and trunk light issues for awhile now.

The last time it happened to me and I pulled it back and took a look and didn't see anything wrong. I unplugged the harness and plugged it back in and then the camera was fine. That said, it has happened 3-4 times and every other time it went away on its own after 30 minutes or so.

I found the broken, three actually, wires right there on the back shelf where the loom snakes up to the trunk lid. Wires are all wrapped up have plenty of protection around them but there's just too little slack there it seems and it broke the wires eventually. Pics to follow. Looks like 22 if not 24 gauge wires, very small.

Pic 1 is the attachment point where you'll find your broken wires
Pic 3 is showing 3 broken wires.
Pic 4 Shows I spliced them with butt connectors crimped.

cam is working again, light in the trunk is still INOP though, trunk release is working. I noticed that there's a separate bundle of wires wrapped in that loom, I need to open that up and have a look.
