I just noticed that I have no sound from the 3.5” speaker in the driver side door. I have the B&O 12 speaker system and wonder the best approach to remedy this before I take the door panel off. I’m guessing the speaker connector is not making proper contact or the speaker is dead or possibly something else I’m not considering. Any thoughts appreciated on recommended steps to approach fixing this.

Only one way to find out take door panel off using trim removal tools leave the door handle cable attached though. It's an OE plug not likely the issue could be some corrosion in it use dialectic grease on the plug and test. You can also test the input wire with ohm meter to verify amp output.

I'm betting the speaker is blown - had the same issue with my 2019 GT. I replaced both mids in the doors with Kicker 2.75" midranges.

Your other option is to kill two birds with one stone; remove the center channel speaker and use it to replace the blown driver's side mid. They're the same speaker in the B&O system. You'll just have to do a little soldering to connect the center channel to the speaker bracket/wiring in the door.

I was just thinking about having a replacement speaker at the ready in the event the speaker is blown. Crutchfield has the MTX Terminator 35 for $39/pair and Kenwood‘s Excelon KFC-X3C for $79/pair. I didn’t see the Kickers - I‘ll look again. I wouldn’t care to spend the extra money for the Kenwood but if the MTX meets or exceeds the quality of the stock speaker I’d like to save the $. Now the question becomes, if I end up needing to replace the driver side 3.5“ - do I/should I replace the passenger side with the remaining new speaker?

Make sure you're replacing that speaker with a midrange, not a coaxial speaker. Using a coax speaker could cause problems with the soundstage (not that it's great from the factory).

Thanks for that - looks like both speakers I mentioned are coaxial.

What are your thoughts on the Kickers vs the OEM you replaced?

They blend perfectly well with the OEM speakers, which is about all I could ask from them.

If I was looking for an upgrade, I would have replaced everything and added an amplifier.
