Car is a little over 1 year old, with 2600 miles and the overpriced, low quality B&O CD deck is disabled. I played a CD and went to remove it and it never came out. "CD Error" I tried several times, again, turning the radio off and on, At one point, I heard gears grinding but no CD. This unit has been a disappointment from the very start as to quality of sound, and now, this.

There is going to be a VERY UNPLEASANT scene at the dealer service department on Monday. VERY UNPLEASANT.
Ok, Karen.

Do you think it's dealer's fault it broke ? Or what ? You haven't even given them a chance to fix it.

No, I don't think it's the dealers fault and for that reason, I rewrote what I stated.

Brand name C/D's? Sometimes that make a diff as to functionality, doesn't it?

Oh yeah you'll go far with that attitude.

CD’s have been getting stuck in players for more than 30 years. It happens. Here are some ideas to get it out.

Yes it was a commercially recorded CD that has been played successfully, before. Something went wrong in the unit. Disappointing, like everything about the B&O unit.

Thanks Ira. I was just going to take it to the dealer and let them do it so it was on record in case this continues. I may try one of those ideas, today. You're probably right about CDs getting stuck but I have never had a problem with any CD unit. Disappointing.

I was was working for Panasonic back when the Technic's released the very first CD player in 1982. When they started going to the powered drawers a year later the single biggest complaint we had were stuck discs.

So long as the CD was in good condition it would make no difference what kind it was. Now a badly scratched CD could cause difficulties with a players loading and unloading system. Of course if this were the case the CD likely would have not loaded and certainly would have not played.

Of course you could try one of our old tricks for releasing stuck discs.

Thanks for balanced response - I know you were upset, I was many times too and going to their dealer made me even more upset, but I always try to have some empathy for they guys working there.

Yes, I tend to blow up over stupid shit like this malfunction. Truth is that one of my local dealers is pretty good and I would never get into or have to get into a confrontation with them, I hope.

So, Bikeman315 got me to trying to get the CD out rather than go to the dealer. I revewed several "tips" on getting the CD out. Probably the simplest was the second CD trick.
Ok, for the benefit of others, heres how it worked. Car sat overnight and I tried to push the eject button, nothing had changed, not coming out. OK, pressed the eject button, again, once the mechanism tried to eject, I inserted a blank CD partly into the slot while holding on to it and, unbelievably the trapped CD came OUT! Don't ask me to explain it, just worked.
At least maybe other people who experience this will profit by my experience. Oh, after it came out, I did reinsert it, it played properly and, then, ejected properly!
It's going to be a good day!
