Thinking is the right thing to do right now.. Some people (like me) get pretty deep into builds and with a proper plan ahead of time you won't waste money testing things out. I did that with that with my BMW when I first bought it and wasted some money. Took a break to evaluate the car and now it'll be featured in performance Bmw soon. So to the other guys, it's not wasting money to have a basic idea of what you want to accomplish with your car
EXACYLY!
I'll take all the lessons learned from my S197 and apply them here.
decision making and not getting caught -up in the crowd.
for me its an all-motor build or SC. that decision will save me tons.

Agreed. My first mod will probably be a roush blower. Then wheels and coilovers. Trying to get it all done within a month though

I am probably headed down this path..Its a hard pill to swallow to shell out 40k for a new car and then 8k for a SC...How long did it take to convince yourself? :D

tbonez3858 - the first time another 5.0 ran past me like I was in reverse. I became immediately convinced at that moment.

LOL...I got ya. I am going to have to feel really bad for 8k. My wife doesnt wear the pants but thats going to be an interesting conversation if I dont do the upgrade day 1. This is how the conversation will go -

Me -I am going to buy a supercharger for my car
Her - A what?
Me - It makes it go faster
Her - Your car is ridiculously fast
Me - Its only 8k
Her - 8k!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me- Yea..8k...ughhh...no big deal
Her - Why do you need it to be faster
Me - Cause I got passed by a Camaro
Her - Really? What are you two years old
Her - Just remember this next time I want a 5k camera and 3k worth of lenses...

I think with the recent Track Packs and now Performance Packs, Ford began to realize that they were leaving a lot of money/value on the table for aftermarket companies to scoop up. While the there has been and will continue to be a huge aftermarket world for the Mustang, I predict that Ford will continue to offer "Packs" for the future, to pick up the money that we've traditionally spent on aftermarket mods.

Sabre - I agree - they could also have a path to open up all the SVT items in the form of "Packages", but then I guess that could make their "specialty" cars not so special. I mean the Roush Cars are so dang expensive, but you can get a roush blower installed on a GT and have money left over.

I think a new hood will be needed for either the Boss 302 or Cobra Jet intake manifolds. Most modders are OK with a new hood, anyway.

There's a big difference between modding your car and throwing money at it. There is zero point in thinking about mods at this particular moment in time.
Except exhaust. My Mustang is going to need an exhaust system. Yes, need.

Which exhaust? Brand 'X' or brand 'Y'? You going to throw the very first exhaust system available on your car?
