A few weeks ago I started to get multiple pop ups every time I start the car... auto update, wi-fi, etc... I’ve tried many things, including reinstalling Sync 3 from a usb, but no success. Factory reset did not fix the problem either. Suggestions? Annoying as all get out.

Been seeing it for about 6 weeks. I called Ford Performance.

Thanks, but turning off auto updates did not fix the problem. I contacted a dealership early on and they were the ones to advise clicking factory reset, but that also did not fix the problem.

Lovely. I hadn't tried it yet, but it's discouraging that FP is giving out incorrect information.

:like:It’s SYNC, for crying out loud! Never worked in the past, does not work now. Personally, im
also getting the message to connect to wifi. I do not use anything but the radio. Never connected phone via bluetooth. Not interested, but agree repeated reminder message is annoying.

Do you have V3.3, Build 19052? I had 3.3 build 18201 and would get that "Network Connection Needed" pop up everytime I started the car. I went to the Ford owner website and it said there was an update available, though I haven't been able to upgrade it via WiFi. I downloaded it on to a newly formatted (exFAT) USB drive and followed the instructions on the website. No more popup.

You might try turning auto updates back on power cycling the car a few time and turning auto updates back off. I would keep trying this and see if you can get it to work.

Alternatively if that doesn’t work try doing a reset. Positive disconnected to negative on battery. Try updates on then updates off.

And yes I am one of that turn if off and on kinda guys.

Still going nuts... system automatically turns on wi-fi pop-up even though I repeatedly turn it off. I stuck in my USB to reinstall the system (again) and it cycled on and off 10-15 times while I was driving around until the whole stereo finally turned off and there was nothing I could do to turn it back on while driving. I thought this was progress. I then came to a stop, turned off my car for 5 minutes, turned it back on and was once again hit with a battery of wi-fi and auto-update pop-ups. Tomorrow I may have to try the unhook the battery trick. This is so super annoying.

At worst, you may try taking it to a dealer and seeing if they can update it while you wait. Can't see what year your car is on the phone but it shouldn't be a problem for one of them to download this quickly. You may have other problems causing this in which they'll be fully aware once they try it. I had to try it 3 times as I kept getting an error code. Turns out my USB drive wasn't formatted to exFAT. All went well once I reformatted it. I haven't seen any update messages since.
