I have read that the 2019 GT is getting auto rev matching. I have not read anything about the 2019 GT 350 getting it. Has anyone heard if there is any possibility that ‘19 will get it and if there will be an upgrade available for prior years to get it installed?

Had new a 16 GT350 and 17 GT350
Every thing I read is IF there really is going to be a 2019 that there will be no changes (maybe color options I'm guessing since they have been doing this))

I like to disassemble things.
I tracked a '17 SS 1LE with rev matching and rather liked it. It was far more aggressive than I would have ever thought but always spot on. The feature could be turned on or off instantly with a flick of a paddle. It was nice to focus on other things beyond limb contortion when braking.

I spoke with a brake development engineer at Ford shortly after. I mentioned I had seen photos of them benchmarking a ZL1 and he laughed and said it was sitting in his driveway. I asked that he and his cohorts seriously consider adding the feature along with some sort of PDR as that was extremely helpful as well. Looks like they listened, partially anyway. So blame me.:)

The Camaro and C7 (and 370z) all have sensors in the transmission so the car knows what gear it is in and how much to blip the throttle to get matching revs. I do think a willing MFR could make some relatively safe assumptions about how a car was being used and blip the throttle appropriately without sensors, but I don’t know of anyone doing that.

Not sure if the 2019 Mustang has new transmissions with sensors, but if so I think it would be very unlikely that Ford would update the GT350 since it uses a different transmission that does not have sensors. Maybe they will outfit the 2019 GT350 with an updated transmission with sensors, but I doubt that will happen.

If the 2019 Mustang is doing rev matching without sensors, then maybe Ford Racing will release something for the GT350 some day. I think that scenario is unlikely (I don’t think a major MFR is ready to automatically rev the engine without knowing exactly what gear the transmission is in) but it sure would be sweet.

if anyone really gets excited over auto rev matching they should go and get automatic and save us the drama
I liked it in the C7 as a backup to my own heel/toe on the track. Easy to turn on and off as well. Really no downside IMO, and might help keep the manual transmissions alive a bit longer.

Drove a ZL1 today and the rev matching is cool as hell. Perfect every time. And the complete purist can just turn that sucker off:cheers:

I wouldn’t buy an automatic, but would appreciate the feature. Doesn’t hurt to offer it as long as you can turn it off if you do choose.

I wouldn't mind a car that had auto rev matching as long as you only have to turn it off once. I would prefer that Ford spend their development dollars elsewhere, though. I'd much rather have a dual injection Voodoo that makes 570+ HP than a 526 HP Voodoo with auto rev matching.

The same goes for improving panel fit and interior plushness. Focus on the engine, IMO.
