Hi yall I have a question. I drive using Sport mode paddle shifters all the time. I noticed that after hard acceleration or other times randomly, the PCM will not cut off fuel and go into engine braking even though I want it to.
It keeps adding fuel at the normal AFR and the car maintains momentum when I left off the throttle. Does anyone know why this happens? Is this cat protection logic or something? Most of the time it will engine brake when I let off the gas. At times when the RPMs are low and the torque converter is slipping it also does this but that makes sense to me.
Like let's say I do some hard acceleration and in high RPM and then let off the throttle to coast and then upshift to lower the RPMs, the fuel will not cut off and there's no engine braking. The car wants to keep a consistent momentum.
I am Lund tuned also btw.
