The chess game began months and years ago for some of us, it will be great to finally see the car on the roads!

Yes can't wait to see them hit the streets here...I can only imagine the flurry Of buyers who aren't car enthusiasts as such like us but more just love the look of the car. They will see them love it and then fall over at the 2 year wait lol....

I am pretty sure it's just ford changing the process after saying first in best dressed. This only applies to a degree. Dealers also get their allocation so based on this scenario if I am order 11 at dealer x and ordered in jan I might get my car in February next year. But say I ordered in March from dealer y but was order 7 I might ge my car in November as they have more allocation left.

Makes sense but is totally not what ford had originally outlined. Hence some people getting screwed in comparison

The dealer I ordered from in Perth did say they are one of Perth's biggest dealers and receive the biggest allocation of Mustangs per month (5 I believe)

Guys - be patient because although I know the waiting struggle all too well all I can tell you is that I've been driving mustangs my whole life and this one is the best DD car I have ever driven and I've been behind the wheel of some pretty nice vehicles in my day....seems like you guys get the same driving experience with some minor technicalities

Update from my dealer.

Looks like they don't have VIN numbers. But my car is scheduled for production in October and to be delivered December...

This is pure speculation but I'm trying to work out what the Aussie VIN numbers will be.
For my GT Fastback :
So far I have 1FATP8CFXG5000000
The X being variable - the check digit btw 0-9 or X.
The 0's being the sequential numbers.
What I want to work out is what will be the first 1 or 2 digits of the sequential numbers which may be representative of being Aussie RHD? I know for the GT350's all of them listed so far have been 52. So what if any any of you guys have vins were the first numbers?
1FA represents the Ford MOCO
T represents the knee bags
P8C is the GT
F is 5.0 motor
G is 2016
5 is the flat rock plant.

Any ideas guys?

The 6 is for the type of air bags, interesting because the brochure say we have the knee bags which is supposed to be the T.
Thanks for the Numbers though - that's a start.

correction to earlier post

I don't have an official vin no. but I have a dealer order no. and a Ford US contract no.
The yanks can get their vin nos in advance of the car being assembled because it is being assembled in the buyers country of residence.
Our vin no. must come from the NZ authorities (and probably the same for OZ)
The salesman this morning got into the Ford vista system for me and I have a build date of Sept 1st
Look forward to your updates and feeling like an expectant father now
Just re-read this post. the VIN must be assigned by the car builder ie Ford - not a country's authority.
If you don't have a VIN yet then it's because they are providing it or don't know how to get it - or there isn't one in the system yet.
