WTF?
I've emailed my dealer for advice as mine also recently came on (change oil now) at around 3600kms.
Will post back with their reply later today.

Hey Drew,Ok, so the receptionist at the dealership just got back to me.
The technician advised her that the sensor is part of an "intelligent" system and that the oil should be changed.
Was quoted $325 for the privilege.
My car was built nearly a year ago, so it could probably do with one.
They call them stealerships for a reason! What the hell are very using for Oil, liquid gold.
They need a 5W-20 synthetic to spec WSS-M2C945-A or ACEA A5/B5. Nominal volume 7.5 litres. I used a Nulon fully synthetic 5W-20 that met WSS-M2C945-A ($100 for 10 litres from Super Cheap.)What oil does our car need?
Your inner cynic and mine would get along just fine :cheers:Looking at local options for oil changes - the cynic inside me suspects that this "Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor" has been designed and implemented for no other reason than to massage the dealership bottom line.
Our Australian delivered Mustangs require 5W-30.They need a 5W-20 synthetic to spec WSS-M2C945-A or ACEA A5/B5. Nominal volume 7.5 litres. I used a Nulon fully synthetic 5W-20 that met WSS-M2C945-A ($100 for 10 litres from Super Cheap.)
Note that it is just the oil that needs changing when the message comes-up - not the filter as well. (Means it's a nice simple exercise.)
That IS confusing! Our Australian delivered Mustangs require 5W-30.
This has been decided by Ford Australia, taking into account of our climatic conditions.
This specification is listed on Page 194 of your Australian Mustang Owners Manual.
I have spoken to Ford Australia Technical Advice on 2 occasions, re the Oil Viscosity for our Australian Mustangs.
On both occasions they advised 5W-30, not 5W-20 as on the Oil Filler Cap.
They also advised a Technical Service Bulletin has been issued to Ford Dealers, advising to use only 5W-30.
I know, you can go on forever re Oil Brands and Viscosity.
I'm just stating what is in the Owners Manual and what Ford Australia have told me.
What version of the Owners Manual do you have? That IS confusing!
1. P194 of MY manual talks about the SYNC2 system, but p188 says "5W20 to meet WSS-MC945-A, WSS-M2C948-B or ACEA A5/B5"
2. P26 of my "Customer Assistance, Warranty & Service Guide" says "SAE 5W-30 to meet WSS-M2C913-D or ACEA A5/B5"
