See if any local Solahart dealers can help...there should be plenty sitting around Solahart dealerships as they are just panel bungs that come from the factory and are removed on Installation. They do fit spot on though. A flat squash ball sprayed with CRC also slips in nice and tight

I am wondering if a brass water pipe end cap would do the same? Like a 20mm ID cap? I bet it would?

I doubt it would ever melt. Thats not the potential issue, its how the rubber breaks down over time. IMHO spending $70K on a car and feeling good about getting away with a buck chair rubber plugging an intake port..... Go for it. and thats not having a go, just trying to fathem why you would want to skimp on such a critical line as the intake?

^^^^^^ That is why I did not use a plastic / rubber lid from something found in my shed. If something is not designed to last at these temps good chance one day it will end up in the intake. May take a year, may take a few, but tick tick tick ......

Got some magnaflow mufflers and tips getting installed in the next two weeks, will report back when done.

You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face for a while. The magnaflow mufflers are the deepest sounding of all. It rocks!

Combined with a tune I think it will easily add 50+ HP

I don't follow though. All the suggested blanking caps so far have been solid and presumably air tight. What effect would this filter have.

It's specifically designed to go around 25mm pipe and it's $5 as opposed to this http://www.americanmuscle.com/blowfish-sound-tube-delete-1516gt.html + shipping. Don't think air tight or filter will have any impact on anything...

It might allow a little extra air in but the effect will be negligible. Really you just can't leave the hole open to suck unfiltered air into the engine. Obvious choice is to blank it off but adding a little filter like this will also achieve the same result ie stop it from ingesting dirt.
