Thanks guys. How's the volume on the Touring, PPPony? On idle and normal light driving? Would you say it's necessary to have more? As in go the sport version?
Was wondering how similar the dual/quad tips might be from each other and what difference having or not having the H/X pipe of the cat back would make. I prefer a nice low rumble with not an overly amount of rasp ( a little is OK). I do like the round on the Roush but not sold on the valance as yet.
Hey Wes,

at this stage I haven't driven it much since last night, but I will say it does sound nice at startup :)

I'll give it a few squirts today and see, first impressions are it is subdued but it has that deep toned muscle car rumble. I think it's ok at this stage for a daily.

To me the Roush sounded fairly raspy, LOL...
But very hard to tell on a mobile speaker.

Bill from CJPP reckons the Borla S is very quiet at normal driving so I'm taking the gamble that it'll be fine for a DD - AB plus an X.

Since day 1 I put my money on the Borla S and went to hear it in person on Fred's GT (Suspensionpartsonline / VogtlandMustang). It's music to my ears. Now sitting in the garage (for another couple of weeks), waiting to be installed.

Everyone has different taste, but I love the S Type because:

- It's louder than the stock but not extremely loud. It's loud enough to reveal the car's personality
- Not loud in the cabin, you can have a normal conversation and hear the awesome sounds in the background just loud enough
- It only gets raspy when you step on it (I quite like that)

I'll be using it as a DD as well

Muffler Sounds - Buyer Beware!

I think this is mod has the biggest potential for buyer remorse.

Don't think any of these after market exhausts are just a bit deeper or a bit raspier than stock THEY ARE WAY DEEPER in SOUND and are WAAAY LOUDER than stock and no YouTube clip can never give you an idea of the real sound and volume. Maybe if you get on a quality computer with a great sound card and quality earphones and put it on 100% volume you will start to get the idea.

I went the JBA AB exhausts and they sound nothing short of SENSATIONAL, and they look superb. They were the choice of Mustang Motorsport for the GT Targa race car, nice and deep with a crackle on back off and very loud. They don't have any drone BUT you are always aware of them, they are rarely quiet.

When I drove out of the shop I gassed the car and the sound was overwhelming, and I was sort of beside myself happy, (like a kid at Christmas) and sort of horrified (like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar) at just how friggin loud and deep these things were. I couldn't help think the neighbours would think I was some sort of hoon lunatic.

I'm glad I keep my stock mufflers as I think I may need them when I sell as these might not be to everyone's taste. I also understand that there are much louder options out there, all I can say to that is OMG, you'd better live in a deserted street.
My wife went from being happy to drive my car when I needed her SUV to "I wouldn't be seen dead in that thing the way it sounds now".

Its also my daily drive and whilst I still love it and gas it every chance I get I'm not sure everyone around me is of the same view.

Just a bit of a stream of consciousness here but in short - be sure of this mod before you saw your mufflers off! Listen to the real thing or better still have a drive in the real thing so you have a very clear understanding of what your getting.

For the record I understand the touring versions are the quietest, next the Axle Back's and they are all as loud as each other, you just get Roush raspy or most of the rest, a deeper growl. Then the Cat Back's etc

I do agree....I went the very Tame very quiet SLP's and no they are not quiet either. They are border line as loud as I would want to go. Saying that Im 10/10 happy and was really thinking I would try these for a bit then source a catback but I couldnt ask for a better sound or one I like better. Be very careful though I believe ALL exhausts will be louder than expected once you hear it in real life.

Axle backs are not all as loud as each other. The muffler primarily governs volume. Hence why the Borla Touring will be much quieter than the Corsa Sport or Roush (talking axle backs only).

Any resonator delete (X or H) will give about the same amount of volume, unless it includes a resonator.

Thanks, Yes I agree, I guess the simple point I was trying to make is the touring options are the quietest, the rest will be varying degrees of LOUD!

Actually there's a YouTube video of the Corsa sport vs the Xtreme and it gives a VERY good idea of how loud the Xtreme is - it talks about death threats from the neighbours and when it gets a good rev the sound explodes and shakes the camera... It is extreme!

Woah that's not fair, Tony has headers in that video (the white car, catless too)

This is the kind of thing that I don't like reading. I'm about 98% committed to the Borla Atak (cat back) because from everything that I've seen online it sounds fantastic and I love that it's going to be super loud but maybe it's going to be too loud, reading this gives me doubts that it's not the right system.

I've been daily driving the Xtreme in Sydney for 4.5 months, which is louder and it's fine

I heard the ATAK on our last cruise, sounds incredible too. If you're going to do headers though I'd get something quieter

I guess if you're just not fussed on how loud your car ends up an Extreme or Atak is no problems....Those that are volume conscious for one of many reasons then choose on the quieter side as I believe they're all louder in real life. IF in doubt go quieter than louder, I'm glad I did.

Oh that's great news! I will be using mine as a daily and I don't plan on doing headers. From the CJPP video it looks like you can drive it quietly (relatively) too so I can get out of my own neighbourhood without annoying the neighbours too much.
