Who says tha Borla is a lesser exhaust? Magnadrone has the name for a reason...
I'd argue quality wise the magnaflow is better. And the 4.5" tips are definitely nicer to me at least. But I do agree by the sound of things magnaflow, at least the competition, can have drone. I I can get the Borla locally for a similar price I'll get it and avoid the drone and be slightly less loud.

I have seen a couple of cracked FRPP x pipes around this site I guess. And with you on the tips, I think they look poo. Would like to see all the options side by side for quality comparison though

I think the magnaflow street would be a good option, as good quality as Borla and no drone. Anything above borla touring sounds poo to me, loud bark no deep tones like the magnaflow. I guess all our ears like different things. If it wasn't for maybe getting some drone out of the MF Comp I'd have it in a heartbeat, best deepest growl out there.

I have the Magnaflow street cat back on mine and love it. No drone and it is loud enough. My wife says it sounds like my Harley. The exhaust tips look great.

Has anyone ordered a borla s type or ford racing by borla cat back locally? I've got the Magnaflow competition on order through my leasing company for my car, but I'm getting nervous it's going to be too loud.. I want the black tips to go with the blackout look I want. So the other 2 main options are those 2 above as they will be a bit quieter and with no drone. Not as nice a sound but I'm just a little scared the competition will be too loud for everyday use based on feedback here and other places. Nothing beats it for pure deep sound IMO but it might be a little much.. Need a local supplier for either of the above at a good price. Needs to be a local supplier so I can get it included in my lease. Managed to get the completion for $1800 which was a great price thanks to a recommendation on here. Anyone been able to get either of those 2 for around $1800?

Edit: or actually the corsa sport as well.

I have already asked and they will do it black tips for the same price.

Shipping that they are quoting on their website is $13.75 flat rate anywhere in Australia. Not sure if that is correct.

Hmm that's tempting. Cheers. The corsa sport is awesome.. Will see what I can get the Borla for but if they won't come down then I think I'll just go up and get that. Probably going to end up divorced though.. Especially after the velgens and springs last week..

That's cheap for a Corsa.

... been listening to some _more_ clips, and having heard HybridGT 's car, I think the American Racing Headers catback is a good option.

Be wary Cj.
I don't want to tell anyone how to suck eggs but the MBRP (either version) doesn't seem to get the best reviews from the Americans.
Having said that, their tastes seem to be somewhat, um, different...:ninja:
I haven't heard it personally, so you can take this with a grain of salt.
I did however find this (and many others like it) when I was doing the rounds.
Just saying.

Love my mbrp race. By the way i wouldn't judge solely from Youtube clips, i based mine off clips and feedback. The biggest drawback i saw for the race was the drone, the street complaints are from rasp (mostly). In the end wanted a deep sound that didn't rasp and I think I got it. Yes it drones, particularly in 6th on the highway, but you can drive around the worst of it, mine isn't a daily driver. Got the tick of approval from the wife too after a 2 hour round trip!
